Out of lineup again Saturday
Neto (shoulder) isn't in the starting lineup against the Nationals on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis
Neto is beginning on the bench for a third straight game after jamming his shoulder while attempting to steal a base Tuesday. The 24-year-old did appear as a pinch hitter Friday, striking out in the seventh inning of a loss, but he didn't play the field following that at-bat. Neto may be available off the bench again Saturday, though he'll likely need to be able to throw without pain before returning to work on defense. Fletcher notes that Neto did throw a bit Saturday and is hoping to return to the lineup Tuesday.

Appears as pinch hitter Friday
Neto (shoulder) struck out in a plate appearance as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to Washington.
Analysis
A shoulder injury has kept Neto out of the starting lineup for the Angels' past two games, though his ability to bat as a pinch hitter Friday suggests that a stint on the IL probably isn't in order. An MRI on Neto's shoulder came back negative, but as of Friday he hadn't yet tested the shoulder by throwing a baseball, according to Doug Padilla of The Orange County Register. Neto will probably need to check off that box before returning to the lineup, though the talented shortstop said that he's "moving in the right direction." He should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Sitting Friday
Neto (shoulder) is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Nationals on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Analysis
Neto jammed his right shoulder during a stolen-game base attempt in Tuesday's game against the Red Sox. The good news for the 24-year-old is that MRI results came back negative, but he will be held out of the lineup for Friday's series opener. Kevin Newman will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth.

MRI reveals no damage
MRI results on Neto's right shoulder came back negative Wednesday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Analysis
Neto was pulled from Tuesday's contest early after jamming his right shoulder during a stolen-base attempt in the eighth inning. However, he didn't suffer any structural damage and is currently being viewed as day-to-day. Scott Kingery filled in as Philadelphia's shortstop during Wednesday's game against the Red Sox and and may be in line for a few more starts until Neto is ready to return.

Out of lineup, will undergo MRI
Neto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Neto jammed his right shoulder on a stolen-base attempt in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning win and was removed from the contest in the ninth after making a wild throw. His injury is to the same shoulder that he had surgically repaired last November, and he is scheduled to undergo an MRI, per Sam Blum of The Athletic. The Angels could have more information on Neto's status after Wednesday's contest. Scott Kingery will fill in at shortstop and bat ninth.

Battling jammed shoulder
Neto jammed his right shoulder during Tuesday's win over Boston, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports.
Analysis
Neto suffered the injury while attempting to steal second base during the eighth inning. He then made a wild throw to first base during the ninth frame, so the Angels pulled him as a precaution. The severity of his injury remains unknown, though the team may have more information ahead of Wednesday's series finale.

Exits with injury
Neto was removed from Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with an apparent injury, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Analysis
Neto was visited on the field by a trainer after making a bad throw to first base in the ninth inning. It's possible the young infielder's injury has something to do with his shoulder, which seemed to be giving him trouble after a steal attempt in the eighth, but more clarity should come after the Angels' training staff evaluates him.

Homers, swipes bag in victory
Neto went 3-for-4 with a home run, two total runs, two total RBI and a stolen base in a 9-5 win against the Red Sox on Monday.
Analysis
Neto opened the Angels' half of the first inning with a solo blast to center field, and he notched a second RBI in the same frame when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The long ball was his second in as many games, as he belted a solo blast in his lone plate appearance as a pinch hitter Sunday. Neto is up to a .278/.322/.498 slash line on the campaign, and with 12 homers and 13 steals, he's one of seven big-league shortstops to reach double digits in both categories.

Homers off bench Sunday
Neto swatted a solo homer as a pinch hitter in Sunday's loss to the Astros.
Analysis
Neto began the game on the bench, but he entered as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and went deep to left field to bring the Angels to within a run. The long ball snapped a 17-game homerless stretch for the talented young shortstop. Despite that drought, Neto has had a decent June overall, posting a .272/.322/.432 slash line with two homers, seven RBI, 15 runs and four stolen bases through 20 contests.

Getting rare day off
Neto is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Analysis
The absence ends a run of 24 straight starts for Neto, who struggled to a .245/.287/.373 slash line with just two homers and four steals during that stretch. Kevin Newman will make his return from a minor ankle injury and start at shortstop in Sunday's series finale.
