Goes deep Sunday
Neto went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Analysis
Neto got the Angels on the board in the fifth with a solo blast off Justin Verlander. He was then right in the thick of the team's four-run, ninth-inning comeback with an RBI before scoring the winning run. Both of Neto's hits have gone for extra bases through his first three starts of the year, adding more power to a lineup that's fourth in baseball with 33 home runs.

RBI double in season debut
Neto went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Friday's 2-0 win over the Giants.
Analysis
Activated off the injured list earlier in the day, Neto wasted no time in making an impact, driving home Nolan Schanuel with a two-bagger in the second inning and then racing home on a Matt Chapman fielding error. Neto hit seventh in his 2025 debut, but he's likely to move into a more prominent spot in the order once he's fully up to speed -- although Friday's performance suggests he's already there. After a breakout 2024 in which the 24-year-old shortstop slugged 23 homers and stole 30 bags in 155 games, big things are expected from Neto now that he's recovered from offseason shoulder surgery.

The Angels reinstated Neto (shoulder) from the injured list Friday.
Analysis
Neto has spent the first few weeks of the season on the injured list while finishing up his recovery from a shoulder procedure he underwent in November. The 24-year-old has been playing rehab games at Triple-A Salt Lake since the start of April, however, and has slashed .286/.397/.592 with four homers, eight RBI and 16 runs scored while logging a base hit in 11 of his 13 contests. Now fully healthy, he figures to slide back in as the Angels' everyday shortstop. Nicky Lopez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Season debut coming soon
Neto (shoulder) could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis
Neto played a full game with Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday and hit his fourth home run in what was his 12th rehab contest. He's slated for another nine full innings with Salt Lake on Wednesday. The Angels finish up a road trip in Texas on Thursday, so it seems likelier that they'll wait until their homestand -- which begins Friday -- before activating Neto. Sunday is the final day of Neto's 20-day rehab window, so the latest he'll be activated is likely Tuesday versus the Pirates.
