Idle vs. southpaw

Schneemann is not in the Guardians' lineup against the Padres on Monday.

Analysis

The lefty-hitting Schneemann will begin Monday's game in the dugout due to the Padres sending southpaw Kyle Hart to the mound. Gabriel Arias will start at the keystone and bat seventh.

Pops home run in win

Schneemann went 1-for-1 with three walks, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over Kansas City.

Analysis

Schneemann was in the lineup for a second straight game and cracked his first home run. He's currently sharing second base with Gabriel Arias, who was needed at third base for the injured Jose Ramirez (wrist).

Starts at second base

Schneemann started at second base and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Kansas City.

Analysis

The lefty-hitting Schneemann handled second base against a right-hander, after the righty-hitting Gabriel Arias started Opening Day against a lefty. It's unclear if the keystone will be a strict platoon, but it would juice Schneemann's fantasy viability if it is. Depending on the state of Jose Ramirez's wrist, both Schneemann and Arias could be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Royals.
