The updates below don’t apply to the MLS competition. With the MLS season halfway through, we’re holding off on adjustments in this specific competition to avoid disrupting ongoing strategies.

The updates will apply to J-League and K-League cards as unlike the MLS, they are part of a regional competition. This change falls within our gameplay window and there are a number of advantages for these cards with this new system including XP bonuses and competing for larger prizes.

In Sorare 26, we’ve completely revisited the Super Rare and Unique competition structure to make your gameplay experience more engaging and more rewarding.

Following your feedback and our analysis of the 2024-25 season, it’s clear that the successful and engaging gameplay model of the Limited and Rare competitions is not suited to Super Rare and Unique. In Super Rare, gameplay and rewards were not compelling enough, and in Unique, we faced challenges of lineup variety and healthy competition in the leaderboards.

In Sorare 26, we are merging Super Rare and Unique competitions. Managers will compete on the same leaderboards for bigger prize pools.

We are ensuring that Classic Unique cards have increased utility in In-Season competitions while Super Rare cards benefit from competing on more exciting leaderboards. With this change, there is no gameplay advantage to playing a Unique card over a Super Rare (they share the same scarcity bonus). But playing Unique cards does boost your rewards! The key is flexibility — you can choose to play only Super Rares, only Uniques, or a mix of both, with a few specific benefits for each option.

We’re excited to say that our solution for Sorare 26 achieves the following:

  • More exciting prize pools
  • More Managers winning rewards on the leaderboard
  • A progression path between Super Rare and Unique, allowing you to win Unique rewards with Super Rare cards
  • Continued and enhanced utility for Classic cards

More Unique Classic Utility

When it comes to playing Classic cards in In-Season competitions, the same rule applies as with other scarcities: 4 In-Season cards minimum, with 1 Classic card maximum.

However, with this mix, we’re adding extra utility for Classic card owners. In addition to this Classic slot, you can now have a second Classic slot that can only be filled with a Unique card.

If you submit a Unique classic card in your In-Season lineup, that means  you can play:

  • 3 In-Season SR/Unique cards + 1 Classic Unique card + 1 Classic Super Rare card
  • 3 In-Season SR/Unique cards + 2 Classic Unique cards

And remember, Classic Unique cards also unlock reward boosts in In-Season competitions. This means a lineup with 3 Super Rare In-Season cards, 1 Classic Unique card, and 1 Super Rare card will enjoy a reward boost. Lineups with 2 Classic Unique cards will receive an even bigger boost.

Unique Reward Boost

If you opt to play Unique cards in In-Season and Classic competitions, you’ll unlock a reward boost. The more Unique cards you play (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5), the greater the boost to your rewards. We’ll reveal the exact prize pool and boosts in July.

This means all cards are on an even playing field in terms of score bonuses and gameplay. You can choose to play only Super Rare cards, but you also have the option to incorporate Unique cards for boosted rewards. Even playing just one Unique card will give you a reward advantage, with no need for a full team. You can gradually build your Unique collection at your own pace.

Prize Pools

This mix opens up more substantial prize pools, where you can compete for great cash prizes* in In-season competitions (with boosts if you play one or more Uniques) and Essence.

In both In-Season and Classic, you’ll have the opportunity to win both Super Rare and Unique Essence, allowing you to gradually build and grind for valuable In-Season Super Rare and Unique cards. Even if you exclusively play Super Rare, you can earn Unique Essence to craft your first Unique In-Season card.

We’ll reveal the exact prize pool and boosts in July.

Gameplay Recap

Wondering what’s specific to Super Rare and Unique gameplay? Here’s a quick recap:

  • Competition Structure: The competition structure will be the same as described in the main blog. In-Season (2025-26) will include Premier League, LALIGA, Bundesliga, and more competitions (full details coming soon). Permanent Classic competitions will be All-Star, U23, and Champion Europe, all featuring SO7.
  • Divisions: There won’t be any divisions in the Super / Unique merged competitions. Instead. We’ll have one unified leaderboard with an exciting prize pool that rewards a broader portion of the leaderboard.
  • Multi-Entry: Managers will still be able to enter three lineups in each competition, whether In-Season (25–26) or Classic. And, another brand new feature, Managers will be able to unlock a 4th entry. Full details will be shared in July.
  • Arena: Arena mode will also be available for Super Rare and Unique, and you can use Unique cards there if you like (please note, Arena rewards are not boosted by Unique cards).
  • Lineup Bonuses: Newly introduced Lineup Bonuses will apply to the merged scarcity in all permanent competitions (In-Season and Classic).
  • Sealing: Sealing will be available for both scarcities, giving you the chance to win reward boosts. You’ll be able to boost leaderboard rewards with both the Unique In-Season reward boost and the Sealing reward boosts. If you have both a Super Rare and a Unique Sealing boost, the impact on your reward boost is determined by the number of Super Rare and Unique cards in your lineup.
  • Beat the Game Mode: In order to guarantee highly engaging leaderboard rewards, we won’t have Missions or a Beat the Game Mode for making them as exciting and competitive as possible. We’ll also ensure that a higher and significant portion of participating Managers win rewards on the leaderboards.

These changes are built on real insights from how you play. We’ve listened, learned, and delivered updates designed to make Super Rare and Unique gameplay more rewarding.
