Slated for surgery, no timetable
Suggs will undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee and is out indefinitely, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Analyse
After missing 10 straight games due to a back injury, Suggs returned to action against the Pistons on Jan. 25 but played only 16 minutes before suffering what was described as a quadriceps contusion at first. In mid-February, Suggs was able to run again and appeared to be ramping up for game action, but he didn't make any progress and was deemed out indefinitely after an MRI diagnosed the point guard with a trochlea injury in his left knee. Suggs doesn't have a return timetable, and it's unlikely he'll be able to play again this season, but he's expected to make a full recovery. The trio of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Suggs have played just six games together this season.

Out indefinitely
Suggs will be out indefinitely with a trochlea injury in his left knee, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Analyse
Suggs underwent further evaluation, including an MRI, to determine the extent of the injury, and the guard won't be available until further notice following the exams. Suggs has missed the last 14 games due to what had been previously described as a quadriceps contusion, but he's been limited to just three appearances since the beginning of January. With Suggs out, Cole Anthony should remain in the starting point guard role, while Gary Harris and Anthony Black should also see extra minutes.

Timetable for return uncertain
Coach Jamahl Mosley said Wednesday that there's been no indication given that Suggs (quadriceps) will miss the rest of the season, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
Analyse
Suggs has missed the last 13 games for the Magic with a left quadriceps contusion, which has led to speculation that he could miss the rest of the 2024-25 campaign. However, Mosley seems adamant that won't be the case, or at least that has yet to be determined. The defensive-minded guard has played in 35 games this season for Orlando, averaging career-high numbers in points (16.2), rebounds (4.0) and steals (1.5) per game.
