Addell's homer proved to be the difference in the Angels' win -- he launched a two-strike fastball from Osvaldo Bido 422 feet to extend the lead to 6-3 in an eventual one-run victory. The 26-year-old Adell has been on a tear at the plate recently, going 6-for-17 (.353) with four home runs in his last five games. He's boosted his slash line to .223/.296/.473 with 13 homers, 34 RBI, 23 runs scored and two steals across 203 plate appearances this season.

Adell's fourth-inning homer stretched the Angels' lead to 4-0, and he added a two-run single for insurance in the eighth. The outfielder is up to 12 homers on the year, six of which he's swatted over his last nine games, a span in which he is 9-for-29 (.310) with 10 RBI. Adell is now at a .226/.297/.469 slash line over 58 contests, but he's added 90 points to his OPS just since the end of May (.676 to .766), which is enough to keep him firmly in a starting role in center field.

Adell is now up to 11 homers on the year. He's hit five of them over his last seven games, going 7-for-22 (.318) with seven RBI in that span. The outfielder is at his best when he's hitting for power, and this surge comes at a good time with Mike Trout preparing to rejoin the mix in the outfield soon. Adell has slashed .224/.298/.459 with 29 RBI, 20 runs scored, two stolen bases and seven doubles across 188 plate appearances. He's holding down a starting job in center field and will likely continue to do so as long as he doesn't go cold at the plate.
