Fans five in rare loss
Gray (16-4) took the loss against the Marlins on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out five.
Análisis
Gray gave up both of his runs in the first and second innings, settling in for three scoreless frames thereafter. The 36-year-old right-hander has experienced very few letdowns since returning from the injured list May 6, conceding more than three runs on just three occasions across his last 20 starts while working at least five innings in all but one of those outings. Gray will bring an exceptional 2.82 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 128:37 K:BB over 143.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus Seattle.

Earns 16th win of 2026
Gray (16-3) earned the win against the Giants on Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings.
Análisis
Gray didn't have his best stuff in Friday's outing, which was marred by a three-run fourth inning in which he gave up back-to-back homers to Drew Gilbert and Rafael Devers. However, Gray was able to complete six innings for a fifth consecutive start and received enough run support from his Red Sox teammates to log his 16th win of the season, which is tied with Cristopher Sanchez for most in the majors. Gray will take a 2.79 ERA and 1.16 WHIP (over 138.2 innings) into his next start, which is lined up for next week on the road against the Marlins.
