Flirts with double-double in loss
Murphy closed with 25 points (9-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, nine assists and one block over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 144-119 loss to the Nuggets.
Analysis
Murphy was Brandon Ingram's (hamstring) replacement for much of the season, and Ingram's trade has given Murphy the keys for the long term. Murphy has certainly earned the role, often ending the night with the team's high score and the ability to pop off for huge numbers on any given evening. Murphy recently enjoyed two consecutive 40-plus point totals after dropping off slightly Wednesday evening.

Murphy finished Monday's 125-113 loss to the Nuggets with 41 points (13-21 FG, 8-12 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 38 minutes.
Analysis
Murphy matched his career-best mark of 41 points and is officially on a heater. Over his last three games, Murphy has been the No. 1 overall producer in nine-category fantasy value with 37.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 7.0 three-pointers on 70.7 percent from the field. It's quite clear that he's becoming the focal point of this offense.

Close to matching career-high mark
Murphy chipped in 40 points (15-20 FG, 8-12 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 39 minutes during Friday's 118-116 loss to the Celtics.
Analysis
Murphy led the way for the Pelicans on offense in a game for which they didn't have Zion Williamson (illness) and in which Dejounte Murray suffered a season-ending torn Achilles. Murphy was so good offensively in this game that he ended just one point shy of tying his previous career-high scoring mark, established against the Trail Blazers on March 12, 2023. Murphy should embrace a bigger role on offense given how depleted the Pelicans are.
