To miss start of season

Robinson (ankle) will not be ready for the beginning of the NBA season, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.

Analysis

Robinson is coming off two procedures on his left ankle, with the most recent surgery taking place on May 14. According to Begley, a return in December or January could be on the table depending on how the rehab process goes, as neither Robinson or the Knicks want to rush the process to make sure that the center is at full strength before getting clearance. With Robinson sidelined to begin the season, Julius Randle could spend a lot of time at center in smaller lineups, while Precious Achiuwa and Jericho Sims will have a lot more opportunity to earn meaningful minutes.
