UCL intact, doesn't need surgery
Arrighetti (elbow) said Saturday that he will miss the remainder of the regular season, but his UCL is intact and he doesn't require surgery, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Arrighetti is dealing with right elbow inflammation, and he hopes to resume throwing once it clears. It's good news for the right-hander after he was sent to the 15-day injured listed earlier this week. Both Arrighetti and the Astros remain hopeful he can return to the mound at some point in the postseason should the Astros make it to the playoffs.

Likely done for regular season
Astros manager Joe Espada said they are still waiting on Arrighetti's (elbow) MRI results Thursday, but that a return during the regular season is unlikely, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis
Arrighetti was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to right elbow inflammation. He's without a clear timeline for his return but isn't likely to be back with the Astros in the final weeks of the regular season.

Sent to injured list
The Astros placed Arrighetti on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right elbow inflammation, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Arrighetti gave up just one run in 6.1 innings while punching out a season-high eight batters during his last start Saturday, but he reported pain in his elbow after a bullpen session Wednesday, per Rome. The Astros could revert to a five-man rotation until the 25-year-old righty returns; meanwhile, Jayden Murray will come up from Triple-A Sugar Land to provide Houston with extra bullpen depth.
