Secures sixth save

Halvorsen allowed a hit in a scoreless inning and earned a save over Arizona on Sunday. He struck out one batter.

Analysis

Halvorsen worked around a two-out double by Randal Grichuk to close out the 4-2 victory Sunday. It was Halvorsen's first appearance since blowing a save chance against the Nationals on Thursday. He's now converted six of his nine save opportunities while producing a 4.31 ERA and a 29:14 K:BB through 31.1 innings.

Can't convert save chance

Halvorsen (1-2) blew the save and took the loss in Thursday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to Washington, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit over two-thirds of an inning.

Analysis

Halvorsen broke a streak of four consecutive scoreless appearances, surrendering a walk-off, two-run homer to James Wood in the bottom of the 11th frame. The outing marked his third blown save of the campaign. In 30.1 innings this season, Halvorsen has a 4.45 ERA and 28:14 K:BB with five saves.

Locks down fifth save

Halvorsen picked up the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Nationals, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Analysis

Halvorsen has converted the Rockies' last two save opportunities. He's turned in four consecutive scoreless innings, striking out five while allowing just one hit in that span. Overall, the right-hander has logged five saves while posting a 4.25 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 28:14 K:BB across 29.2 innings this season. The demotion of Zach Agnos last weekend should leave Halvorsen as Colorado's top option for saves, though Tyler Kinley could also be in the mix.

Works fifth save

Halvorsen picked up the save, walking one batter in the process, during Monday's 6-4 win over the Nationals.

Analysis

The Rockies closer worked his third straight scoreless outing Monday, allowing just one hit over that stretch, to earn his fourth save of the season. The 25-year-old hasn't gotten a ton of save opportunities, and he hasn't been too efficient with them either, blowing two of the six he's had. The right-hander has a 4.40 ERA on the season.
