Lands on injured list
The Giants placed Chapman on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to right hand inflammation, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis
Chapman had X-rays come back negative after suffering the hand injury Sunday against Atlanta, but the inflammation will still sideline him for at least the next week and a half. The veteran third baseman will be eligible to be reinstated June 19. Casey Schmitt is likely to step in at third base for San Francisco in the meantime.

X-rays negative on hand
Chapman (hand) underwent X-rays on his right hand, which came back negative, following Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis
Chapman was hit by a pitch with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, and he was subsequently picked off at first base, jamming his right hand in the process. The third baseman remained in the game as San Francisco closed it out in the top of the ninth, and he appears to have avoided a significant injury after receiving his X-ray results. Chapman can be considered day-to-day with the Giants off Monday ahead of a three-game set in Colorado beginning Tuesday.

Blasts walk-off bomb
Chapman went 1-for-4 with a walk-off two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Atlanta.
Analysis
The third baseman played hero Saturday, launching a walk-off homer to extend the Giants' winning streak to four games. The team has leaned heavily on its pitching, but Chapman has been a key contributor offensively, slashing .389/.463/.750 with seven extra-base hits and five RBI over his past 10 games. The 32-year-old and Heliot Ramos are the only Giants with an OPS above .800 this season.

Multi-hit effort in win
Chapman went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Padres.
Analysis
The third baseman singled in the third inning, then stole second and subsequently came around to score on a ground-rule double by Dominic Smith. Chapman added another single in the fifth, marking his fourth multi-hit performance in his last eight games. He's batting .429 with four runs scored, three RBI, three doubles and two home runs across 33 plate appearances during that span.

Slugs homer Wednesday
Chapman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 6-5 win against the Padres on Wednesday.
Analysis
Chapman's lone hit was a big one, as he swatted a two-run homer to left field in the sixth inning to cut a four-run Padres lead in half. The long ball extended the veteran third baseman's on-base streak to seven games, a span in which he's batting .417 (10-for-24) with two homers, three doubles and three RBI. Chapman is batting just .236 on the campaign, but his .791 OPS ranks second on San Francisco, and he's added 11 homers along with five stolen bases through 61 contests.
