Starting rehab assignment
Garcia (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Analysis
Garcia is three weeks removed from landing on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation, but he is ready to test things out in a game setting. The veteran reliever should rejoin the Red Sox' bullpen in short order if he checks out well. He's been torched for 13 earned runs in 11.1 innings since being acquired by Boston at the trade deadline.
