Idle versus lefty
Stowers isn't in the Marlins' lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.
Analysis
The lefty-hitting Stowers will take a seat to begin Friday's contest as the lefty-throwing Blake Snell starts on the mound. With Stowers out, Derek Hill, Cristian Pache and David Hensley will serve as Miami's outfield trio.

Analysis
Stowers now has three multi-hit efforts in his last five games -- he's gone 9-for-20 (.450) with four extra-base hits and six RBI in that span as he's settled into a starting role with the Marlins. Overall, Stowers is slashing .235/.281/.353 with two homers, 17 RBI and 10 runs scored across 120 plate appearances between Miami and Baltimore.

Stowers went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a triple and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 9-8 win over the Rockies.
Analysis
This was Stowers' second multi-hit effort in a row, while the long ball was his first as a Marlin. He's had some trouble adjusting to his new team, batting just .173 (13-for-75) with 30 strikeouts over 24 contests since he was traded from the Orioles. For the year, he has a .216/.267/.333 slash line with two homers, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and no stolen bases over 120 plate appearances.
