Undergoes imaging on side
Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Monday that Stowers (oblique) underwent imaging on his right side Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Stowers has been out since mid-August with a left oblique strain, but it was soreness in his right side that kept him out of his last two scheduled rehab games over the weekend and necessitated imaging. The results of his imaging aren't yet known. Stowers had been expected to return from the 15-day injured list this week, but his status is now in limbo.

Rehab assignment paused
Stowers (oblique) returned to Miami for further evaluation Monday after being unable to play at Triple-A Jacksonville on his rehab assignment over the previous two days due to general fatigue, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
Analysis
Stowers began a rehab assignment Friday with Jacksonville, going 0-for-3 with a walk while serving as a designated hitter. He had been expected to play again Saturday and Sunday, but he went unused both days. It's unclear whether the fatigue he's experiencing is related to the oblique strain that landed him on the 15-day injured list in mid-August, or if he's contending with a different issue. More could be known about Stowers' status later Monday after he's looked at by team doctors.

Starting rehab assignment
Stowers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Analysis
As expected, Stowers will begin his minor-league rehab assignment Friday, likely the last step in his recovery from a strained left oblique. The outfielder has been sidelined since Aug. 17 and shouldn't require too many games at Jacksonville before being reinstated from the injured list.

Preparing for rehab assignment
Stowers (oblique) is set to resume baseball activities Wednesday and is expected to report to Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment over the weekend, MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Stowers has been on the 10-day injured list since Aug. 17 due to a Grade 1 left oblique strain, but the outfielder doesn't look as though he'll require an extended ramp-up period before rejoining the Marlins. Before getting hurt, the first-time All-Star had been enjoying a breakout season for Miami, slashing .288/.368/.544 with 25 home runs, five stolen bases, 73 RBI and 61 runs in 117 games.
