Fades late in loss
Freeland (1-10) yielded three runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings Tuesday, striking out six and taking a loss against Boston.
Analysis
Freeland rolled through five shutout frames with little trouble before stumbling in the sixth inning. He was knocked out of the game on Trevor Story's two-out RBI single and was charged with two more runs after Juan Mejia entered the game. Freeland has given up at least three runs in 13 of his 17 starts this season, resulting in a 5.44 ERA across 89.1 frames. His lone win this year came against Miami on June 4, but he's since given up 15 runs over his last four outings (6.23 ERA). Freeland is currently lined up to start in Cincinnati this weekend.

Earns quality start in no-decision
Freeland did not factor into the decision in Thursday's game against the Astros. He allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two across six innings.
Analysis
Freeland got off to a rocky start after giving up three runs over the first two innings. He settled down to keep the Astros off the board over the next four frames and came away with his eighth quality start of the season (and fourth in his last five outings). Freeland now has a 5.49 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 61:20 K:BB across 83.2 innings this season. He's tentatively lined up to face the Red Sox at Fenway Park next week, which may be his last turn in the rotation before the All-Star break.
