Tossed from series opener

Quero was ejected from Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports. He went 1-for-3 with a double before exiting.

Analysis

Quero struck out looking in the bottom of the sixth inning and had some words for the umpire afterwards, resulting in his removal from the matchup. Despite an early exit, he managed to pick up his first base knock since Tuesday and his first extra-base hit since May 26.

Resting for first game of day

Quero is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Analysis

After starting at either catcher or designated hitter in each of Chicago's last three contests, Quero will get a breather for the first game of the day. Expect Quero to replace Kyle Teel behind the dish for the second contest of the doubleheader, though Teel could still stick in the starting nine as the White Sox's DH.
