Expected to be activated Tuesday
LeMahieu (calf) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and start Wednesday versus the Mariners, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
LeMahieu is set to return to the major-league roster after missing the entirety of the 2025 season to this point while recovering from a left calf strain and a hip issue. The 36-year-old could step right into a starting role at second base due to Jazz Chisholm (oblique) being on the shelf, likely replacing Jorbit Vivas in the Yankees' lineup. LeMahieu struggled to a career-low .204 average while adding two home runs, 26 RBI and 19 runs scored over 201 at-bats in 67 regular-season games with New York in 2024.

Not activated from IL yet
LeMahieu (calf) was not activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game in Seattle, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
LeMahieu has joined the Yankees in Seattle, but the team hasn't put him on the active roster just yet. That could come as soon as Tuesday. LeMahieu has been shelved all season with a calf strain and more recently a hip issue.

Joining team in Seattle
LeMahieu (calf) is slated to join the Yankees for the start of their series Monday in Seattle, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Analysis
The team has not confirmed that LeMahieu will be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of the series opener, but it seems likely that he will be on the active roster. LeMahieu has been out all season with a calf strain and more recently a hip issue, but he's healthy now. The 36-year-old has gone 12-for-27 with one home run and a 4:3 K:BB over nine rehab games and could be the Yankees' primary second baseman while Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is sidelined.

Could be activated later this week
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that LeMahieu (calf/hip) could be activated from the 10-day injured list later this week after playing two more rehab games, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
LeMahieu has moved his rehab assignment up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will play there Tuesday and Wednesday before the Yankees decide whether to have him join them on their road trip that begins Friday. The veteran infielder initially landed on the IL due to a calf strain but more recently dealt with a hip injury. However, he's healthy now, and his season debut with the big club looks imminent. LeMahieu could take over at second base while Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is sidelined.
