Jansen went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Yankees.
Analysis
Jansen accounted for Boston's only run Thursday with a solo homer off Nestor Cortes in the fifth inning. It was his ninth home run of the season and third since joining the Red Sox late in July. Playing time has been hard to come by for Jansen, as he's played behind Connor Wong and has just 59 at-bats in the Red Sox's 45 games since trading for him.
