Dominant in no-decision

Schmidt did not factor into the decision in Monday's 1-0 loss to the Angels, allowing four hits and no walks over 7.2 scoreless innings. He struck out three.

Analysis

The New York right-hander required 97 pitches to secure his second straight quality start and fifth overall. Despite collecting only three Ks, Schmidt managed to generate 13 whiffs while allowing just one extra-base hit -- a Christian Moore triple in the eighth. With this performance, Schmidt lowered his ERA from 3.60 to 3.16 across 62.2 total innings. He currently lines up to make his next start in the Yankees' upcoming weekend home series against the Orioles.

Silences Royals in third win

Schmidt (3-3) tallied the win Wednesday against the Royals after giving up two hits and three walks in six shutout innings. He struck out seven.

Analysis

It was Schmidt's second scoreless start in his last three outings, and he's now thrown at least six frames in five of his last seven appearances. The 29-year-old right-hander scattered two singles, and he came one strikeout shy of tying his season high. Schmidt holds a quality 3.60 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 57:24 K:BB across 55 innings, and he'll remain worth deploying in the vast majority of fantasy formats versus the Angels in his next scheduled start.
