Should begin rehab stint next week
Santander (shoulder) will continue his workout program with the Blue Jays this weekend in New York and could begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Buffalo, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis
The veteran outfielder has been sidelined over three months while recovering from a dislocated shoulder, but he's in the final stages of his rehab program. Santander will need at least five games in the minors to get back up to speed, which means that the earliest he'll be able to rejoin the Blue Jays will be Sept. 14 versus the Orioles.

Closing in on rehab assignment
Santander (shoulder) will travel with the Blue Jays to Cincinnati early next week and should begin a rehab assignment after that, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Santander has been running, taking batting practice and hitting off a high-velocity pitching machine and is close to being cleared for game action. The switch hitter has been on the shelf with a subluxation of his left shoulder since late May. Santander could return to the Blue Jays' active roster by mid-September if all goes well.
