Sidelined through All-Star break
Toro (hamstring) will be out at least through the All-Star break, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Toro landed on the injured list Saturday due to a Grade 1 strain in his right hamstring, and the A's have already determined that his absence will extend into the second half of the season. Tyler Nevin figures to see the majority of reps at third base until Toro returns, though Aledmys Diaz and Armando Alvarez may also pick up a few starts.

Lands on IL with strained hamstring
The Athletics placed Toro on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a strained right hamstring.
Analysis
Toro returned to the lineup Friday after missing the three previous games due to a shoulder strain. He went 1-for-3 with a run and one walk in Friday's 6-5 win over the Twins, but he was replaced by Tyler Nevin in the top of the seventh inning due to the hamstring strain. Nevin and Aledmys Diaz should see increased playing time with Toro sidelined, as could Armando Alvarez, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Headed for injured list
Toro suffered a strained hamstring Friday and will be placed on the injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Toro was held out of the lineup earlier in the week with a shoulder issue and returned to the lineup Friday. He suffered an unrelated hamstring injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Tyler Nevin and Aledmys Diaz figure to see increased playing time.

Back in lineup Friday
Toro (shoudler) is starting at third base and hitting in the leadoff spot for Friday's series opener against the Twins.
Analysis
Shoulder soreness kept Toro out of the starting lineup for the Athletics' last three games, though he did pinch hit in the seventh inning of Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Royals. On the season, Toro is slashing .259/.300/.387 with 15 doubles, six home runs and 24 RBI over 291 plate appearances.

Sees action as in-game replacement
Toro (shoulder) entered Thursday's loss to the Royals as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh inning and remained in the game at third base, recording a double in his only plate appearance.
Analysis
Toro was out of the starting nine for the third straight game due to shoulder soreness, but his ability to make some hard contact and then stay in the game on defense implies he may be ready to return to the lineup Friday. The veteran's pinch-hit, two-out two-bagger Thursday had the potential to generate Toro's 25th RBI of the campaign and snap a 2-2 tie, but Kyle McCann was thrown out at the plate to end the frame.

Sitting out Thursday
Toro (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.
Analysis
Toro will miss out on a third consecutive start while he recovers from a sore shoulder, an injury that first cropped up in the Athletics' doubleheader with the Twins on Sunday. Aledmys Diaz will fill in at third base Thursday for Toro, who is considered day-to-day.

Battling sore shoulder
Toro has been dealing with shoulder soreness ever since Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Toro's shoulder injury helps explain why he will be missing his second consecutive game Wednesday versus the Royals. The Athletics are still optimistic that the 27-year-old infielder will be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but he will see a doctor Wednesday in order to determine the best way to approach his injury. Tyler Nevin figures to operate as Oakland's main third baseman while Toro recovers.

Sitting second straight
Toro isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Analysis
Although Toro has slashed .309/.338/.456 against left-handed pitchers this season, the Athletics will give Tyler Nevin another start at third base versus southpaw Cole Ragans.

Resting Tuesday
Toro isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Royals.
Analysis
Toro will sit down for Tuesday's series opener after going 2-for-14 during Oakland's previous series against the Twins. The newly-promoted Tyler Nevin will take over at third base and bat seventh.
