Sorare NBA 26: Super Rare and Unique Merge: What You Need to Know
Following our gameplay announcements for Sorare NBA 26, it’s time to provide more detail on the changes coming for Super Rare and Unique Managers across both Classic and In-Season competitions. This update formalizes the merged competitive environment between these two scarcities, unlocking bigger prize pools, better progression, and clearer gameplay benefits.
Combining Competitions for a More Flexible Experience

Since launch, Super Rare and Unique cards have coexisted closely in gameplay. To maintain healthy competition despite limited card populations, Unique competitions have traditionally allowed up to three Super Rare cards alongside buffed Unique cards with a scoring bonus. Effectively, this meant Managers were already balancing Super Rare and Unique cards in their lineups.
Now, we’re formalizing that merged dynamic for both Classic and In-Season competitions into a unified competition. This lets managers choose whether to earn Super Rare or Unique Essence from standard leaderboards while preserving the value and utility of both card types.
Scoring and Reward Boosts
To keep gameplay balanced:
- Both Super Rare and Unique cards will receive a 40% scoring bonus in competitions to ensure fair play.
- Unique cards unlock significant reward boosts in In-Season lineups, with an 80% reward increase per In-Season Unique card included.
- Therefore, a full lineup of In-Season Unique cards will net you 400% the normal reward, or $20,000* per Game Week for first place in Champion.
- Two Classic Unique cards can be included in In-Season lineups for an added boost, opposed to 1 Classic Super Rare allowed. Each Classic Unique will net a 20% bonus on rewards.
This system encourages a blend of Super Rare and Unique cards, giving Managers more tactical choices and unlocking bigger rewards for Unique card holders.

Updates to Collections
Collections remain separate for Super Rare and Unique cards but are now more aligned:
- Collection point scoring and bonus milestones remain distinct but follow a unified structure for fairness, as both scarcities compete in the same lineups.
- The ownership bonus per card has been increased: Unique cards now grant 50 points (up from 10), while Super Rare cards grant 20 points (up from 10).
- Long-term ownership bonuses have doubled to +20 points after 30 days (was +10 after 90 days), speeding up collection bonus unlocking.

These changes make high collection bonuses more achievable, particularly for Unique card holders who face slower supply rollouts. The result is a stronger market, higher secondary sales, and more viable team-building strategies.
What it Means for Managers
The merge of Super Rare and Unique competitions is designed to deliver a richer, more balanced, and more rewarding gameplay experience for all Managers. By unifying these tiers, we’re unlocking greater opportunities for competition, reward, and strategy, including:
- Bigger Rewards Every Week: In-Season Unique Cards deliver 80% more rewards vs. their Super Rare counterparts every single Game Week. Even once a card moves into Classic, it still returns 20% more rewards for the rest of the player’s career. That difference compounds fast, especially for Star players used every Game Week.
- Smarter Progression: Choosing a Super Rare card over an In-Season Unique effectively halves earnings potential for that roster slot. Over a season, that’s a meaningful opportunity cost and why Uniques can be some of the most efficient ways to scale rewards to new heights.
- More Flexibility: Unique cards unlock an additional Classic slot in Super Rare / Unique competitions, giving Managers more ways to optimize roster composition and strategy.
- Faster Collection Growth: Unique cards help you climb Collection milestones faster, with up to an extra 2% scoring bonus vs. Super Rare, helping both in gameplay and driving market liquidity.
Together, these updates create a richer experience for Super Rare and Unique Managers, making Sorare NBA 26 the most exciting season yet.
