Sorare 26 In-Season Competition Structure

Full Competition Structure Reval

We’ve already shared a glimpse of the updated competition structure, but now it’s time for the full reveal. We’ve taken what you already love and made it even better:

  • More league-specific competitions to fuel your passion
  • Refreshed grouped formats (Challenger and Contender) for Managers who live and breathe global football.

You already knew that the Jupiler Pro League and Eredivisie would each have their own dedicated competition. We’re now thrilled to announce one final addition:

Ligue 1 McDonald’s is officially joining the list of Sorare In-Season competitions, starting with Sorare 26.
We’re beyond excited to welcome our national league to Sorare and to give our many Ligue 1 McDonald’s-passionate Managers the chance to fully live their passion on the platform*.

With this, seven leagues will now have their own dedicated In-Season competitions in Sorare 26, built for the most passionate fans and collectors out there.

Alongside these, our remaining licensed partners will be grouped into refreshed Challenger and Contender competitions, preserving the global structure you know and love, but adapted to account for both Eredivisie’s and Jupiler Pro League’s dedicated competitions.

Following this update, we’re excited to welcome the SPFL and Austrian Bundesliga to the Challenger competition!

You’ll still be able to use Classic cards from other leagues covered by Sorare scoring — like Brazil, Russia, Serie B, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, EFL Championship, and LALIGA 2 — in the Classic slot of your In-Season Contender lineups.

As a reminder, alongside the In-Season structure, there will be three permanent Classic competitions with 7-player lineups: All-Star, U23, and Champion Europe.

Every Manager will be able to enter up to four lineups in both In-Season and Classic competitions from the very start of the season. This fourth slot will be available by default: no need to unlock it, as previously stated.

*When the season begins, FC Metz will be the only club not yet available, but we hope to welcome them shortly after the season kicks off!

An Update about Serie A

Serie A will not be licensed at the launch of Sorare 26. As much as we value our partnership with Serie A and are eager to feature a dedicated Serie A competition on Sorare, we’re currently unable to pursue our partnership due to the existing constraints:

  • Several clubs are locked out of our product category, meaning we’re unable to have them on Sorare
  • The remaining clubs are only available through bundled sales, which significantly affects the experience we can offer

We’re actively continuing discussions with Serie A and remain hopeful that we’ll be able to welcome the league back to Sorare as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you can still use your Classic Serie A cards in multiple ways:

  • In your Classic slot for In-Season Challenger lineups.

In the new structure, there’s no In-Season Champion Europe competition. Including it would have spread rewards too thin, especially now that 4 out of the 5 Champion leagues already have their own dedicated competitions. That said, we still wanted to ensure Classic Serie A cards have utility in In-Season play, which is why they’ll be eligible in Challenger.

And here are the other places where you can play them:

  • In Champion Europe Classic, All Star, and U23 (if eligible).

  • In The Championship
  • In Arena mode
  • Special Events (European Nights for example)
  • In Daily Missions
  • Or you can seal them to boost your Leaderboard rewards

Card Launches & Division Battles

We’re excited to confirm that Early Access cards are returning for Sorare 26! Cards for each league will be available before the start of their season (with one exception: Danish clubs, whose cards will land before Matchday 2).

This season, league card drops will happen gradually. You can find the full card launch calendar below, though please note it may be subject to small adjustments.

This time again, we’ll be running thrilling Division Battles to determine initial division placements for each permanent competition.

  • Before the Division Battle takes place, there will be no Divisions and all rewards will be merged into one Leaderboard.
  • In Limited and Rare, performance in this Game Week will determine your starting Division (1, 2, or 3).
  • That means top performers during the first Game Week will earn a direct fast track to Division 1. In each Division Battle:
    • The Top 20% will win a fast track to Division 1.
    • Managers ranked between 20% and 60% will be placed in Division 2,
    • The bottom 40% will be assigned to Division 3.

For league-specific competitions, it’s simple: A Division Battle will take place during the first Game Week when the league begins. (For example, Jupiler Pro League’s Division Battle will begin on July 25.)

For Challenger In-Season, Contender In-Season, and Champion Europe Classic, Division Battles will only run once all participating leagues are active. All-Star and U23 Division Battles will take place on August 22, when most leagues are in action. Until then, these competitions will feature a single Leaderboard with merged rewards.

Here’s the calendar for each competitions’ Division Battles:

Now that you know where you’ll be competing, it’s time to see what’s at stake: The prize pools!

Record-Breaking Prize Pools

Sorare 26 launches with our biggest prize pools ever. Yes, bigger than last season: More winners. More rewards.

But before we show you the numbers, let us walk you through how they were built:

Hot Streaks

Hot Streaks – Cash* Prizes

You love the Beat the Game format. You loved thresholds. Hot Streaks are now live across all 9 In-Season competitions! That means each Game Week, in both Limited and Rare, you could win up to 9 Hot Streak cash* rewards.

With Hot Streaks, it’s all about your performance, not the competition around you.
You don’t need to worry about how other Managers perform or where you rank on a Leaderboard.

It’s simple, just hit the target, and get rewarded with cash*. Since you can enter up to 4 lineups per competition, you have multiple chances, as only one of your lineups needs to hit the target! However, you can only claim the reward once per In-Season competition x scarcity (Limited or Rare) each Game Week, even if multiple lineups hit the target.

There are 5 Hot Streak levels, each tied to a fixed cash* reward. Every time you hit a target, you advance to the next level. In the following Game Week, you’ll face a higher points target but also bigger rewards.

Every Game Week, your consistency can earn you cash* rewards.

For example:

Last season, a 360-point score in Limited Premier League Division 3 might have earned you 3 Essence, depending on how others performed. In Sorare 26, that same score means a $5 cash reward* when starting your Hot Streak, in addition to potential rewards based on your Leaderboard rank.

We’re also making an important change to Hot Streak rules. This season, your streak won’t reset if you don’t submit a lineup when the competition is open. That means if you only play Scottish lineups in Challenger, and there’s no Scottish fixture during a Game Week when Challenger is open, your Hot Streak will stay intact.

And don’t forget two other major updates we already announced that benefit every Manager chasing a Hot Streak:

  • All In-Season Lineups with 4 In-Season cards and 1 Classic card are now eligible for Hot Streaks. (This also applies to MLS.)
  • The newly introduced Lineup Bonuses don’t just add fun and strategy to the Leaderboard; they’re also a powerful tool to help you beat the game and hit your Hot Streak targets more easily and even with low cap teams. More details later in this blog.

You’re ready to go. Explore the full breakdown of Hot Streak levels and rewards, depending on which competition you play:

And there’s even more!

🚨Summer Bonus: Hot Streaks Go Double

To help you start strong, we’re turning up the heat; every Hot Streak for both Limited and Rare reward will be doubled across all competitions through the end of September Game Week (Sep 26-30).

Yes, you read that right: 2x rewards at every streak level.

🔥 Hot Streak Throwback Bonus

There’s more, we’re celebrating Challenger (Old & New) and Contender with a special Hot Streak promo that stacks with the Summer Double Bonus! A throwback to the old 250 threshold days.

🔥 Applies to Hot Streaks in Jupiler Pro League, Eredivisie, Challenger, and Contender
🗓️ Starting the Game Week of July 25-29 and running through to the end of August, the Game Week of Aug 23-26

🎯 The first two Hot Streak targets will be temporarily lowered:

Limited

➤ 250 360pts = $6
➤ 300 380 pts = $10

Rare

➤ 275 400 pts = $20
➤ 330 420 pts = $40

Stay tuned. More Hot Streak surprises could drop in August 👀

Leaderboards – Cash* Prizes

Remember, your Hot Streak winnings stack with your Leaderboard rewards. You can go big with Hot Streaks, especially as you climb the streak levels, and on top of that, a top performance on the Leaderboard means an instant top cash prize*.

In the Leaderboards’ top divisions, cash* is rewarded to:

  • Top 100 in Limited
  • Top 40 in Rare
  • Top 20* in Super Rare & Unique merged Division

*We’re aiming at rewarding at least 10% of the Super Rare & Unique In-Season leaderboards with cash* prizes. We’ll monitor the number of entrants in this competition and adjust the prize pool if the current Top 20 no longer reflects that percentage.

Smaller cash* rewards — like $5 prizes for ranks 100 to 500 — are no longer part of the main Leaderboard structure (except in some Limited lower division prize pools). These amounts — and even more — are now more easily earned through Hot Streaks. Unlike Leaderboard prizes, Hot Streak rewards are based solely on your score, not your rank. If you hit the target, you win — no need to worry about how other Managers perform.

The Leaderboard is still where you stack the biggest cash prizes* for top performances. And in Sorare 26, you can now compete on 9 exciting In-Season Leaderboards, up from 7 last season.

With this new setup, Sorare 26 delivers more rewards to more Managers than ever before.

But that’s not all. In Sorare 26, we have also significantly increased Essence rewards across all In-Season and Classic competitions.

Leaderboards – Essence Prizes

We’ve overhauled how Essence is rewarded. Here are the two key changes:

  • We’ve switched from top % Essence rewards to rank-based Essence rewards.

This change also allows us to add more granularity to leaderboard rewards and address an important piece of community feedback. Ranking 101st and 1,000th will no longer reward the same prize. Instead, different Essence amounts will be distributed within the same leaderboard, depending on your rank range (e.g., 2,000 Essence, 1,000, 750, 500, 250, etc.).

  • We’ve significantly increased Essence rewards across all In-Season and Classic competitions

As a result, the majority of Managers on the Leaderboard now earn Essence, and with crafting completely reworked in Sorare 26, Essence is more powerful than ever. (More details in the Essence and Crafting sections below.)

Here are some examples of how many Managers now win Essence in In-Season Leaderboards across all divisions:

  • Top 1,000 in Limited
  • Top 250 in Rare
  • Top 50 in merged Super Rare & Unique competitions

We’ve also made the Classic prize pools more rewarding than ever:

  • More Essence is distributed across every Leaderboard. For example, the top 10,000 Managers in each All-Star Classic Limited Division will win Essence.
  • Top-performing Managers still win top cards! T0, T1, and T2 rewards remain in the Leaderboard for the best ranks. For instance, the Top 100 Managers in All-Star Limited Division 1 will now win a T0 card! That is more than what was distributed in Champion, Challenger, and Contender combined last season.

In Sorare 26, we’re optimizing our supply to reward more cards than in past seasons, through both leaderboard rewards and crafting.

IMPORTANT NOTE about Essence:

To make percentage-based reward boosts (like Sealing bonuses) easier to calculate and distribute (example: avoid having to apply a 5% boost on an 8 Essence reward), we’re scaling the entire Essence economy to a larger format.

All elements of the game — prize pools, crafting pulls, Arena eligibility, and more — will be adjusted to match this new scale.

That’s why the minimum Essence reward in prize pools is now 100, and in some cases, you can earn up to 2,000 Essence for a single performance.

As previously revealed, crafting in Sorare 26 now uses a fixed Essence requirement. With the new scale, each crafting pull requires 1,000 Essence.

Naturally, we’re also adapting your existing Essence balance to match this updated system. And because we want to reward Managers who’ve saved their Essence with intention, we’re being extra generous in how we scale it:

On July 15th, we’ll multiply all current Essence balances by 20. If you have 215 Essence today, that will become 4300 Essence on July 15th.

For the full breakdown of the revamped crafting system, check out the dedicated Crafting section below.

Now that you’ve got the full context on how we built the prize pools, it’s time to check them out for yourself.

New Crafting System

We’ve already revealed it, Essence and crafting are evolving in Sorare 26, giving you more control, deeper strategy, and a more interactive, rewarding experience.

As reflected in the prize pools, more Managers are winning more Essence than ever before. Crafting has never been more accessible or straightforward. With this update, the excitement of winning and collecting new In-Season cards is truly within reach.

Now, it’s time to dive into the full details.

First, as mentioned above, your Essence balance will be multiplied by 20 on July 15th to match the new gameplay reward boosts (notably the Sealing Boost) and to make rewards easier to display. The entire Essence economy has been adjusted accordingly, including prize pools, Arena eligibility, and crafting requirements.

We’ve also made sure to be extra generous in scaling your balances, because we want to reward Managers who saved up Essence and help them make the most of the new system from day one.

How does crafting work now?

Crafting is now simpler. You need 1,000 Essence (with the new scale) to pull a draw; no more milestone-based crafts (T5+, T4+, etc.).

That means if you currently have 500 Essence (equivalent to one T1+ craft), you’ll have 10,000
Essence when the Card Factory opens after the Essence rebalance, enough to craft up to 10 In-Season cards, each with a good shot at landing a top-tier player card.

Draw Odds:

When you craft a card, you’ll receive a draw of 10 face-down cards, with a 75% chance of landing a Standard Draw and a 25% chance of hitting a Special Draw. Special Draws offer better odds of pulling higher-tier cards, and you’ll know immediately if you’ve landed one.

The full breakdown is the following:

  • 75% — Standard Draw
  • 15% — Special Draw: Guaranteed T2+
➤ All 10 cards are T2 or better
  • 9.9% — Special Draw: Aim for the Star
➤ At least 1 of the 10 cards is guaranteed to be T0
  • 0.1% — Special Draw: Full Star
    ➤ All 10 cards are T1+

These Special Draw odds are part of our season launch celebration and may be adjusted later in the season. We may also introduce limited-time boosts with higher chances of landing Special Draws or entirely new types of Special Draws.

Card Tier Odds:

In a Standard Draw, each of the 10 cards has the following tier odds:
T0: 1.0%, T1: 2.0%, T2: 4.0%, T3: 20.0%, T4: 30.0%, T5: 43.0%.

To sum it up, here are the overall chances that your draw contains at least one card of each tier:

Draw TypeDraw ProbabilityTier 0 Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4 Tier 5

Special Aim for the Star9.9%100%23%28%83%94%99%
Special T2+15.0%18%86%100%0%0%0%

With this new crafting system, whether you’re earning Essence more easily every Game Week or have been saving it for the season launch, you’ll craft more and enjoy a thrilling new way to grow your collection, with real chances to land top-tier cards.

Crafting clues that guide your choice

And the experience is even more rewarding than you think.

Crafting odds are one thing, but now, you also have tools to help you choose the right card.
Introducing: Crafting Clues, use them to reveal key details about your draw and make smarter picks.

Imagine pulling an “Aim for the Star” Special Draw and revealing the league and nationality of all 10 cards.  If you see a Premier League Norwegian in the mix… well, that might just be the set of decisive clues you need 😉

To celebrate the launch of the new season, Essence requirements for Crafting Clues are temporarily discounted. We’ll share the exact duration of this promo, along with the final clue Essence amounts, after the season starts.

Here’s an overview of the temporary promotional Essence amounts:

Craft CluesStandard DrawSpecial Draw

More Craft Clues are on the way, stay tuned!

Crafting Reveal & Buy Back

After your pick, you’ll see the full set of 10 cards from your draw, so you’ll know what you might have missed out on.

Not satisfied? Get some of your Essence back. If you’re not happy with your choice, you can choose to return the card and receive a portion of your Essence back. The exact number will be revealed closer to the new crafting opening.

Other important information:

Removal of Essence Limit: For now, Managers can save as much Essence as they want; there will be no limit in place. We’ll monitor how the new crafting system is used, and if needed, we’ll communicate any changes to the Essence limit in advance.

Essence Flavor: Essence remains flavored by the competition you earned it from, meaning each card in your draw follows the odds of your Essence’s origin. But now, you can reveal key card characteristics to help guide your choice!

Card Factory Opening: The Card Factory will close on July 15th. You’ll have until that date to craft using the old system. The new Card Factory (with the updated system) will open on July 25th. During the 10-day transition period, crafting will be unavailable for MLS, K League, J.League, Argentina, and Norway cards.

From that point on, Managers will be able to craft cards from each league starting on the day the Game Week of its first matches locks, after 4 PM CET. Here’s the full calendar:

We’re super excited to bring you this new crafting experience, and we can’t wait to see how you use your Essence to build your collection of new In-Season cards.

Seal Your Cards for Boosted Rewards

In Sorare 26, every card in your collection has more utility than ever, from competing in lineups, completing missions, to powering up your rewards through Sealing.

With Sealing, you can now lock cards into your Vault. Once sealed, these cards become untouchable: they can’t be sold, traded, or played in competitions. But in return, they help you level up your Vault and improve your rewards.

Here is how it works: When you seal a card, you gain Sealing Points. Each card provides Sealing Points relative to the card’s quality – the higher the quality the more Sealing Points it provides. Your Vault Level is based on how many Sealing Points you have. The higher your Vault Level, the greater the percentage bonus applied to your In-Season and Classic permanent competitions rewards, including cash* and Essence.
(Note: Hot Streaks, Missions, Arena, and Special Events rewards are not impacted by Sealing).

Even Legends and Coach cards — which cannot be used in Sorare 26 competitions — can be sealed to boost your rewards. Once sealed, those cards are treated as high-tier cards, giving them one of the most significant impacts on your Vault Level.

For example, a Manager with Sealing Level 10 who wins a $1,000 prize from the leaderboard will receive $1,100 thanks to the 10% reward boost.

Unsealing:

Sealing isn’t permanent, but it’s not a light decision either. Managers will be able to unseal one card every 2 weeks, per scarcity. When a card is unsealed, the Sealing Points it contributed will be removed, and your Sealing Level will be adjusted accordingly.

When can I start sealing my cards?

Sealing will go live in mid-July, before the new season kicks off.
Managers will be able to start locking in their cards and increasing their Sealing Level right away. The first Game Week with boosted Sealing rewards will be July 25–29.

And this is just the beginning, we’re already exploring new ways to reward Sealing beyond leaderboard bonuses, including exclusive gameplay features and other surprises.

Other Important Gameplay Details and Info

In our original gameplay announcement, we mentioned that several new features, details, and changes would be revealed closer to the start of the season. Now’s the time to dive into them.

The Championship

As a reminder, monthly competitions are coming to Sorare 26, built to reward Managers who shine over time, not just in a single Game Week.

With cumulative leaderboards, special rules, and unforgettable prizes, the Championship gives your cards — from any season — even more utility.

The first edition kicks off in September. We’ll reveal the full rules and rewards before it begins, so stay tuned!

Permanent Arena

As originally announced, Arena will be a permanent game mode in Sorare 26, running every Game Week, including midweeks, across Limited, Rare, and Super Rare scarcities.
And for the first time, Unique will also have its own Arena.

The Unique Arena will follow the same format as the other scarcities: same Essence eligibility, and same leaderboard size. We’ll monitor its performance closely and may adjust it based on testing and community feedback.

Arena includes:

  • 🕰️ Anytime Entry – In Limited and Rare, you can submit lineups before the Game Week starts or enter throughout the weekend to join newly created Arenas.
  • 🔁 Unlimited Entries – No more constraints. Enter as many lineups as you want.
  • 🏆 Golden Arenas – 5% of rooms offer boosted podium rewards.

Starting the Game Week opening on July 25, you’ll be able to compete in two permanent Arena formats:

  • Arena Capped – 260 Cap, no bonuses, 10-player leaderboards, 100 Essence eligibility
  • Arena Uncapped – No Cap, bonuses apply, 10-player leaderboards, 250 Essence eligibility

The Essence requirements have been adjusted to match the new Essence economy mentioned above.

And that’s just the beginning. We’re planning a wave of improvements, giving you more control over the Essence eligibility, competition rules, and leagues you want to play in.

Stay tuned for Special Arena Events and surprises throughout the season!

Lineup Bonuses

We’ve been thrilled to hear your feedback on Lineup Bonuses, a new layer of strategy designed to make building your team more dynamic and rewarding.

As you know, we tested bonus values during the Club Global Cup. Based on that data and your feedback, we’re now ready to lock in the final bonus structure for all permanent In-Season and Classic competitions in Sorare 26:

  • 🔓 Cap Bonus – Earn a 4% score bonus if your lineup stays under a 260 L15 cap. For Classic competitions with 7-player lineups, the cap will be 370 points.
  • 🧩 Multi-Club Bonus – Earn a 2% bonus when your lineup includes no more than two players from the same club.

During international breaks, the Multi-Club Bonus will be disabled in All-Star and U23 competitions, as it’s not relevant for national team matchups: players may belong to the same club but not the same national team, for example.

As you can see, we’ve slightly lowered the impact of these bonuses following the test phase to balance their impact on the Leaderboards. As a reminder, they’re not mandatory to compete, they won’t give a huge advantage, and your favourite stacks are still super competitive on the Leaderboard.

Lineup Bonuses offer a small edge for Managers who enjoy a challenge, encouraging lineup variety, increasing utility for lower-tier cards, and help to hit Hot Streak point targets!

Scoring Matrix Changes

We’re making slight adjustments to the scoring matrix based on community feedback, continuing to improve the system so it better reflects real-life player performance.

Here’s what’s changing:

  • “3 Goals Conceded” (Goalkeepers) – This negative decisive action is being removed.
Additionally, the penalty for each goal conceded will be adjusted from -3 to -5 points.
We believe the old rule unfairly punished goalkeepers who didn’t necessarily perform poorly. Slightly increasing the weight of goals conceded in the All-Around score creates a fairer reflection of their impact.
  • “Penalty Won” – This will remain a positive decisive action when the penalty is scored.
On top of that, it will now also add +3 points to the All-Around score, further rewarding players who create key scoring opportunities, in the same way an “assist” is also a “big chance created.” In total, when you factor in the “was fouled” and “duel won” actions that are also triggered alongside a penalty won, the total points of the action rise to 5 points for a forward.

These changes will go live on the (July 25-29) Game Week

Collection Bonus Update

We’re doing a light change to Collection scoring across all scarcities:

  • New rule: +20 points after 30 days of card ownership without listing
  • Previous rule: +10 points after 90 days

This change reflects the shift to the In-Season model and gives Managers more value from building strong collections early. It also means it’s never too late to start a collection, and gives more utility to the secondary market, where completing collections with the maximum bonus was previously almost impossible.

Promotion & Relegation Dynamics

We’re making a small update to how many Managers move between divisions each Game Week. Here are the new promotion and relegation rates:

From → To% Promoted/Relegated
Division 3 → Division 2Top 30% promoted
Division 2 → Division 3Bottom 30% relegated
Division 2 → Division 1Top 15% promoted
Division 1 → Division 2Bottom 30% relegated

SO7: Classic Lineup Formation

In Sorare 26, Classic competitions will follow the new SO7 format, following this set up:

1 GK – 2 DEF – 2 MID – 1 FWD – 1 EXTRA

As mentioned in our latest AMA podcast, we’re actively working on a fair solution to address DNP frustration. We’ll follow up on this shortly after the start of the season.

Special Events

As mentioned in our last announcement, Special Events will no longer follow a fixed calendar; instead, they’ll drop in to celebrate key football moments with fresh challenges and big rewards.

With Arena, All-Star Classic, and U23 Classic now permanent, you’ll always have ways to use your cards, even during quieter Game Weeks.

Beyond that, expect surprise events, special Arena formats, and more. Daily Missions will also take on a bigger role in delivering fresh gameplay alongside core competitions.

For European Nights and International Breaks, we’ll continue to run recurring Special Events to celebrate these exciting moments. However, we’ll be revisiting the format and gameplay of these events:

Despite generous rewards, the events often felt unbalanced, with top prizes hard to reach and leaderboards frequently dominated by the same lineups due to uneven matchups.

We’ll share the updated gameplay and prizes ahead of the return of European Nights in September.

Competition Opening Rules

For a competition to open in a given Game Week, the following team participation thresholds must be met:

  • All In-Season Competition,  Champion Classic, and U23 Classic → The rule remains the same: At least 10 licensed teams must play during a Game Week for the competition to open. U23 Classic will also open during international breaks or international competitions.
  • All-Star Classic & Arena → Only 1 licensed team required (or International games)
