Following a lengthy absence due to lower-back spasms, Glasnow made his first start since May 6. He was rocky out of the gate, allowing four singles and three runs in the first inning, but went on to blank Atlanta over his final four frames, including a stretch of five consecutive strikeouts. The right-hander's swing-and-miss stuff remained sharp despite the long layoff, as he generated 15 whiffs and has now recorded at least seven strikeouts in six of his eight starts this season. Glasnow owns a 3.02 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 56:13 K:BB across 44.2 innings and is scheduled to face St. Louis next Tuesday.

He built up to 77 pitches during his most recent outing at Triple-A, so he likely won't be operating under a heavy workload restriction while he makes his first MLB start in nearly four months. He will return to face an Atlanta lineup that's posted just a .590 OPS across its last 10 games.

Glasnow (back) struck out nine batters and gave up one run on one hit and one walk over 5.1 innings during a rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers had been targeting Glasnow for five innings and 75 pitches in the fourth start of his rehab assignment, and he was able to check both boxes, tossing 77 pitches (54 strikes). The veteran righty generated 12 swings and misses, capping off a dominant stint in the minors during which he submitted a 1.32 ERA, 0.51 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB in 13.2 innings. From both a workload and results standpoint, Glasnow looks ready to return to the big leagues for the first time since early May, after a lengthy recovery from lower-back spasms. He'll likely come off the 60-day injured list and make a start at some point a three-game series in Atlanta which begins Tuesday.
