Moved to 60-day IL
The Rangers transferred Gray (foot) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Analiz
Gray was ruled out for the season once he initially landed on the injured list Tuesday due to neuroma in his foot, and moving to the 60-day IL will officially put an early end to his year. Sandro Fabian was selected from Triple-A Round Rock to take Gray's place on the 40-man roster.

Placed on injured list
The Rangers placed Gray (foot) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
Analiz
Neuroma in Gray's foot will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season. He'll finish the 2024 campaign with a 4.47 ERA and 1.31 WHIP alongside an 86:28 K:BB across 102.2 innings.

Done for season with foot injury
Gray will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to neuroma in his foot, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analiz
It's not clear when Gray's foot began bothering him, but he had coughed up 11 runs over 6.2 innings covering his last two starts. The veteran right-hander will finish with just 17.1 innings in the second half due to groin and foot problems. Gray had been slated to start Thursday against the Angels, but Jose Urena is now likely to take the ball for the Rangers that day.

Suffers sixth loss
Gray (5-6) took the loss Friday against Oakland, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
Analiz
The Texas right-hander made his second consecutive poor start, as he has allowed 11 runs over 6.2 innings since re-joining the rotation Aug. 24. Gray looked shaky from the get-go, allowing a solo homer to Brent Rooker in the first before yielding a three-run long ball to JJ Bleday in the third. Gray has struggled mightily in the second half, pitching to a 6.75 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB across 17.1 innings while bouncing between the rotation and bullpen with an IL stint mixed in. He tentatively lines up to make his next start against the Angels at home.
