Last week, we unveiled our plans for Sorare: MLB 2024. Tomorrow, our Marketplace opens, signaling the start of another exciting season of fantasy baseball.

Today, we’re excited to present more details about rewards, including the new prize pools for our competitions and more.

Here’s a quick recap of the key updates for the upcoming season:

• Major Boost in Rewards: We’re significantly increasing the stakes by committing at least $1 million in total Cash/ETH rewards, more than triple the amount from last season
• Introducing Champion Competitions: Elevate your game in our newly added core competition, where significant Cash/ETH rewards await
• Special Competitions Debut: Special Competitions will offer dynamic & novel gameplay throughout the season
• Exciting Reward Boxes: Enhance your Sorare: MLB experience with the introduction of Reward Boxes, bringing a thrilling new dimension to winning rewards

Triumph and win with bigger rewards, extend gallery utility in new competitions, ascend through the ranks in our new loop. Let’s get into the specifics.

Reward Pools

Our reward pools have been carefully designed to reinforce an improved, simplified game loop for Sorare Pro:

• Play with Classic Season cards to win In-Season Cards & Basic Reward Boxes or Primary Market Credits
• Play with primarily In-Season Cards to win Cash & Premium Reward Boxes

With our new distribution this season, we are slated to reward a higher proportion of Managers each Game Week in Sorare: MLB than ever before, ensuring top lineups are properly celebrated.

Reward Boxes

Integrating Reward Boxes into the prize pools breathes new excitement into your reward unveiling experience, widening the circle of Managers reveling in the thrill.

• Reward Boxes come with a chance to pull an In-Season Pro Card or Primary Market Credits
• Two varieties of Reward Boxes exist: Premium & Basic, each with varying odds of containing In-Season Pro Cards. Premium Reward Boxes boast better odds than Basic Reward Boxes

Longer term, our vision extends to expanding the Reward Box contents to include more in-game items and other exciting prizes.

Champion

A total of $700,000 in Cash/ETH is earmarked for these competitions across Limited, Rare, Super Rare, and Unique for the season

• We’ve analyzed historical Pro competition participation and ensured that Cash Rewards per lineup entered rise with scarcity levels
• Podium spots dish out more cash than last season, with stellar performances earning top payouts
• Premium Reward boxes add to the prize pool excitement, with more Managers given the chance to snag top-tier Pro Cards. Every box is a chance to win big!
• We will add more Premium Reward Boxes to the prize pools as participation grows, as well as introducing Premium Reward Boxes to Super Rare and Unique Champion

While In-Season Cards will be required to enter Champion competitions, Managers can still use their top Classic Season cards to help lead their team to glory. Here are the requirements for Game Week 1 and the transition that will take place for Game Week 10:

Pro, All Star, American League, National League

In these competitions, ANY Pro Cards—Classic or In-Season—can be used in a lineup. Top performers are guaranteed an In-Season Pro Card for their prowess. In Limited & Rare, other high-ranking Managers will receive a Basic Reward Box that contains In-Season Pro Cards or Primary Market Credits. For Super Rare & Unique, they will be guaranteed Primary Market Credits.

Note that Coins will be rewarded at the same rate as last season across these competitions

Common, Majors, and Sandlot

Common, Majors, and Sandlot all return, with some adjustments to Reward Pools. As we continue to refine the experience for new Managers who join Sorare, these will continue to evolve.

Special Competitions

Special Competitions, while not a weekly affair, will bring excitement with varying formats. From multi-week, long-format battles to single-Game Week contests with unique eligibility and scoring rules, each iteration promises to challenge Managers’ scouting ability.

For good measure, $300,000 is set aside for these competitions this season. With Cash Rewards and Reward Boxes on the line, the prize pool matches the exhilarating gameplay each new competition brings. 

Additionally, we’ll be rewarding exclusive prizes that bring Managers closer to the players. VIP experiences, jerseys, and other items will be up for grabs!

Player Tiers

For the upcoming season, we’re evolving our player tiering system by incorporating more data points, enhancing our algorithm for a more nuanced understanding of player performances and their appeal to collectors.  We want to ensure that Managers feel rewarded after a hard fought Game Week. Special attention will be given to rookies and other new additions to the player pool, carefully managing their introduction to player tiers to better reflect actual performances on the field. 

Player tiers will be published prior to the beginning of Game Week 1, ensuring tiers are informed by the latest data, aligning with our commitment to a balanced and strategic gameplay experience​​.

Collection Challenges

The thrill of collecting and the passion for the game converge in Sorare’s Collection Challenges, offering an unparalleled opportunity to reward our most dedicated collectors with exceptional prizes and experiences. As Sorare continues to bridge the gap between fans and their favorite teams and players, these challenges embody our mission to celebrate and reward our community for their passion.

Top Collectors will have the opportunity to win prizes like mlb.TV subscriptions and tickets to MLB games. Throughout the season, we’ll reward both In-Season and Classic Season Collections. Stay tuned for more details on how you can get in on the fun!

Coins & Club Shop

Coin reward levels will remain consistent with previous seasons, and they will also be rewarded in Champion competitions. We will have the same Club Shop inventory to start the season. Rest assured, we have been making efforts to align the infrastructure of our Club Shop to scale across all sports. We’re committed to evolving the Club Shop into a more immersive and engaging experience for our community and appreciate your patience as we lay the groundwork for these exciting developments.
