Set to miss three-game road trip
Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said after Monday's 129-121 win over the Nuggets that LaVine is expected to miss the team's entire three-game road trip that begins Wednesday in Boston while he tends to a personal matter, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports. LaVine finished Monday's contest with 21 points (6-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six assists, three rebounds and two steals in 35 minutes.
Análise
LaVine's wife, Hunter, recently announced via social media that the couple is expecting its third child, so the 29-year-old won't travel with the Bulls to Boston and will presumably remain out for games Friday in Toronto and Sunday in Detroit. Patrick Williams was moved to the bench Monday, but he'll be a top candidate to slide back into the starting five while LaVine is away from the team. LaVine should be ready to return to the lineup when the Bulls host the Heat on Feb. 4.

Extends 20-point streak
LaVine accumulated 25 points (10-20 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 3-8 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal across 38 minutes during Saturday's 109-97 loss to the 76ers.
Análise
LaVine surpassed the 20-point mark for the fourth consecutive game, and he's achieved that feat in all but two of his appearances since the beginning of January, so there's no question the star forward is going through his most productive month of the season. It's unclear if that'll translate to a potential trade before the Feb. 6 deadline, but LaVine is certainly showing he still has a lot left in the tank. He's averaging 28.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game since the beginning of the new calendar year.

Goes for 24 points in defeat
LaVine registered 24 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 9-12 FT), three rebounds and four assists across 33 minutes during Thursday's 131-106 loss to Golden State.
Análise
LaVine surpassed the 20-point mark for the third straight contest and achieved that feat in 10 of his 12 appearances this month. The star forward has been Chicago's most reliable scoring weapon over the last few weeks, both from a statistical and a consistency-based perspective, and he might experience an uptick in his usage rate if Coby White (ankle) misses extended time.
