Won't play Thursday
Wembanyama (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Clippers, NBA reporter Matthew Tynan reports.
Analysis
Wembanyama will be held out of the second leg of this back-to-back set due to injury management, and his next opportunity to play will come Saturday in Denver. With the star big man sidelined, Luke Kornet will likely get the starting nod, while Mason Plumlee and Kelly Olynyk are candidates to see increased minutes off the bench.

Huge double-double against Warriors
Wembanyama accumulated 41 points (16-22 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 18 rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 29 minutes during Wednesday's 127-113 victory over Golden State.
Analysis
The 41 points and 18 boards led both teams on the night, as Wembanyama bolstered his MVP case by tying the season-high scoring mark he'd produced in the Spurs' last game Monday against the Bulls. The double-double was also his 40th of the season, the second time in three years he's reached that mark. Wembanyama has scored 30-plus points in six of his last 14 games, averaging 29.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 3.4 assists, 2.6 threes and 1.2 steals over that span while shooting 53.0 percent from the floor.

Season-high 41 points in win
Wembanyama supplied 41 points (17-27 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 16 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal across 31 minutes in Monday's 129-114 win over the Bulls.
Analysis
Wembanyama exploited a favorable matchup against 6-foot-7 fellow Frenchman Guerschon Yabusele, who got the starting nod at center for the shorthanded Bulls. Wembanyama put up a season-high 27 field-goal attempts en route to a season-high 41 points, and he has now scored at least 20 in five of the last six games. The star big man also grabbed a game-best 16 rebounds, securing his fourth straight double-double with 15-plus boards. Additionally, Wembanyama was productive from beyond the arc following a seven-game stretch in which he shot just 22.5 percent from downtown.

Big double-double in Saturday's win
Wembanyama logged 23 points (7-21 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals over 31 minutes during Saturday's 127-95 victory over the Bucks.
Analysis
His performance got overshadowed by Stephon Castle's fourth triple-double of the season, but Wembanyama led the Spurs in scoring on the afternoon while delivering his 38th double-double. The third-year superstar has pulled down 15 boards in three straight games and at least 12 in six of his last eight contests, averaging 24.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.5 blocks, 1.8 threes and 1.5 steals over that stretch.
