Merrill accumulated 22 points (7-12 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 141-118 victory over the Pelicans.

Merrill entered the Cavaliers' starting lineup Tuesday for the first time since Nov. 17, and he played particularly well in the second quarter with 11 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc. The sixth-year guard has played in each of Cleveland's last two games after missing the 14 prior contests due to a hand injury, and Merrill figures to remain in the Cavaliers' starting lineup for as long as Max Strus (foot) is sidelined.

Análise
Merrill returned from a 14-game absence as a result of a hand injury, leading the bench with 26 minutes. While his production was far from outstanding, he does provide the Cavaliers with a relatively consistent perimeter threat. With that said, his limitations on the defensive end and the fact that he is likely to continue coming off the bench make him nothing more than a streaming candidate in standard leagues.

Merrill will make his first appearance since Nov. 17 after sitting out for over a month with a hand sprain. It's fair to expect some kind of minutes restriction for the sharpshooter in his return, considering the lengthy absence. Merrill has averaged 13.9 points, 2.3 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 3.7 three-pointers per contest in 12 regular-season games thus far, during which he has shot 44.4 percent from downtown.
