Resting Tuesday
Nurkic is out for Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies for rest purposes.
Análise
The expectation should be that the veteran big man will return to the lineup Friday against the Pistons, which is notably the first half of a back-to-back set. Kyle Filipowski should handle the lion's share of the center minutes, with Kevin Love backing him up.

Strong line in loss
Nurkic notched 17 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 14 rebounds and six assists across 35 minutes during Monday's 135-112 loss to the Nuggets.
Análise
Nurkic put up a very strong performance against his former teammate in Nikola Jokic. Apart from some woeful free-throw shooting this season (49.3 percent), Nurkic has put together some decent stats with averages of 8.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.4 three-pointers in 24.8 minutes per contest.

Returns with 15 points
Nurkic produced 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-11 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Thursday's 143-135 loss to the Lakers.
Análise
Nurkic's return from a one-game absence allowed Lauri Markkanen's (groin) to take a night off for injury management, but the Jazz needed more interior contributions to keep things competitive with the Lakers. Nurkic had the opportunity to exploit an interior playing without Deandre Ayton, and he fared well with eight boards. Ultimately, Nurkic's poor performance at the charity stripe played a major role in the final result. He converted only four of 11 attempts at the free-throw line, dropping his season percentage to an abysmal 48.5 percent.

Available Thursday
Nurkic (rest) is available for Thursday's game against the Lakers, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.
Análise
Nurkic was held out for rest purposes Monday against the Mavericks. He's been cleared to return Thursday, which means Kyle Filipowski will likely return to the bench. Nurkic has been in the Jazz's starting five since Nov. 2, and in 18 games as a starter this season he has averaged 8.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals over 26.1 minutes per game.
