Walsh got the starting nod for a 12th consecutive contest and had an impactful performance on both ends of the floor, despite fouling out with just over two minutes to go in the final quarter. The 21-year-old forward led all players in steals and tied his season-high mark, tallying multiple swipes for the third time in his last five appearances. He also delivered another efficient outing from the field and has shot an impressive 76.5 percent from the floor in that five-game span, during which he has averaged 14.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.2 assists in 27.8 minutes per game.

Coming off a career-best 22-point performance in Thursday's win over the Wizards, Walsh provided another effective performance during the second leg of the Celtics' back-to-back set Friday. He connected on a career-high four triples, led the Celtics with two blocks and finished with a game-high plus-28 point differential. Boston has a 9-2 record since Walsh permanently entered the starting lineup Nov. 12 against the Grizzlies, and over his last four outings he has averaged 15.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 threes, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks over 28.2 minutes per game.

Walsh and the rest of the Celtics starters were forced to take on larger roles Thursday due to Jaylen Brown being sidelined with an illness. Walsh made the most of the opportunity, connecting on all eight of his field-goal attempts en route to a career-high scoring performance. The third-year forward has stepped up in a big way during Boston's three game-winning streak, and over that span he has averaged 14.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks over 28.9 minutes per game.
