Murray amassed 43 points (16-29 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes during Monday's 127-114 win over Minnesota.

It was the seventh time in the 27-year-old point guard's career that he's scored 40 or more points during a regular-season contest, and three of those performances have come in 2025 -- once each in January and February toward the end of last season, and then Monday's eruption. He's also hit for 40-plus six times in the playoffs. Murray is off to a flying start to 2025-26, averaging 30.3 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 boards, 3.0 threes and 1.3 steals through three games while shooting 53.0 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from three-point range, both of which would be career highs.

Leading scorer in Saturday's win
Murray finished Saturday's 133-111 victory over the Suns with 23 points (8-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal over 32 minutes.
Análise
While Nikola Jokic was busy supplying another triple-double for the Nuggets, it was Murray who led the team in scoring on a night when all five starters, plus two members of the Denver bench, scored in double digits. Murray's biggest task this season will be simply to stay healthy, but he's had a productive start to the schedule, averaging 24.0 points, 7.5 assists, 4.5 boards, 2.0 steals and 2.0 threes in his first two contests.

Drops double-double in opener
Murray closed Thursday's 137-131 overtime loss to the Warriors with 25 points (11-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, 10 assists and three steals across 40 minutes.
Análise
Murray got off to an excellent start in the opener. Although Denver's fortunes are often dictated by Nikola Jokic's success, Murray's ability to distribute the ball is equally important for Denver's long-term outlook. The veteran's above-average shot volume (20 attempts) was also encouraging, as his seasonal averages have ranged from 15 to 16 attempts per game.

Murray sat out Denver's preseason finale for rest purposes and, as expected, he'll be available for Thursday's regular-season opener. The point guard is entering his ninth NBA season -- all with the Nuggets -- and he averaged 21.4 points, 6.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game during the 2024-25 regular season.
