Starting Monday
Mashack will start Monday's game against the Suns.
Analysis
The Grizzlies will be extremely shorthanded Monday, opening the door for Mashack to join the starting five. As a starter this season (three games), the rookie second-rounder has averaged 9.3 points, 3.3 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 27.7 minutes per contest.

Impactful in return
Mashack (ankle) finished Saturday's 125-124 win over the Bulls with 17 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal over 30 minutes.
Analysis
Maschack returned Saturday from a six-game absence due to a left ankle sprain and gave the Grizzlies a much-needed boost off the bench. He finished as the team's third-leading scorer behind Cedric Coward (24 points) and Tyler Burton (18). The two-way guard has averaged 25.1 minutes per game since early February and will continue to operate in an elevated role down the stretch, as the Grizzlies are dealing with a plethora of injuries in addition to being eliminated from playoff contention.

Deemed questionable
Mashack (ankle/nose) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Bulls.
Analysis
Mashack has a legitimate chance at returning from a six-game absence due to a left ankle sprain and, more recently, a nasal fracture. With several of the Grizzlies' guards also on the injury report, Mashack would have plenty of opportunities to capitalize on Saturday if he's upgraded to available.

Doubtful for Wednesday
Mashack is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Spurs due to a left ankle sprain.
Analysis
Mashack appears to be set for a fifth consecutive absence Wednesday. With Javon Small (back) in danger of sitting out, the injury-riddled Grizzlies should turn to Walter Clayton, Cam Spencer and DeJon Jarreau to shoulder the load in the backcourt versus San Antonio.
