Suffers torn ligament in thumb
Payton suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb Tuesday and "will miss time," ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

This is a tough blow for Golden State, as Payton had been logging sizable workloads recently with minutes in the 20s. With Payton out for an indefinite period, there could be more minutes available for players such as Buddy Hield, Moses Moody and Gui Santos.
