Boston (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Suns.
Análise
Boston signed a two-year contract Wednesday with the Pelicans but won't be available Thursday in Phoenix while dealing with a sprained left ankle. The 23-year-old forward has played 42 games for New Orleans this season, averaging a career-high 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 43.6 percent from the floor and 35 percent from beyond the arc.

Upgraded from two-way deal
The Pelicans officially signed Boston (ankle) to a standard two-year NBA contract Wednesday.
Análise
Shortly before the All-Star break, Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin hinted that Boston would be upgraded from his two-way deal while the fourth-year wing was closing in on his season-long limit of 50 active games at the NBA level. Boston hasn't played since Feb. 8 while recovering from a left ankle sprain and a non-COVID-19-related illness, but the Pelicans have nonetheless followed through with their plan to move the 23-year-old up to the 15-man roster. The Pelicans signed guard Jalen Crutcher to fill Boston's vacated two-way spot.

Análise
Boston continues to nurse both a sprained left ankle and a non-COVID illness, which will keep him off the court once again Tuesday. His next chance to return to action comes Thursday against Phoenix. Boston's absence against San Antonio should keep Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins locked into meaningful roles off the bench.
