Jaylen Brown (rest) and Sam Hauser (rest) moved back into the starting unit Sunday, which pushed Simons to the bench, but that certainly didn't slow him down. Simons led the team in shot attempts and caught fire from beyond the arc, indicating that his role as a potential sixth man can still be appealing in fantasy formats.

Simons turned in 18 points, three assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes in a starting role Friday against the Raptors, but he will shift to a bench role Sunday with Jaylen Brown (rest) and Sam Hauser (rest) back in the starting five. Análise
Simons started this game alongside Payton Pritchard with the Celtics resting all three of Derrick White, Jaylen Brown and Sam Hauser. Simons finished second on the team in shot attempts and saw plenty of usage. He projects to be the sixth man for Boston this season, and it will be interesting to see how he embraces the role -- coach Joe Mazulla is going to challenge him to become more engaged on the defensive end.

Análise
Simons' absence from the first unit comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Celtics' major offseason acquisition was a shoo-in to start at the shooting guard spot to start the campaign. Still, it's the preseason, so Wednesday's lineup is far from a guarantee to be replicated on opening night. Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Sam Houser, Chris Boucher and Xavier Tillman make up the starting five Wednesday.
