Adames (back) is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Diamondbacks on Monday, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.
Análise
Adames was removed from Sunday's game in the eighth inning due to lower-back spasms. The issue is still bothering the 30-year-old shortstop and will keep him out of lineup for Monday's series opener, and he's also unlikely to be available as a pinch runner or hitter, per Webeck. Casey Schmitt will start at shortstop and bat third.

Dealing with back spasms
Adames left Sunday's 3-2 win over Atlanta in the top of the eighth inning after his lower back locked up on him, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Adames struck out swinging in his final at-bat of the game in the bottom of the seventh, finishing the day 1-for-4 with three punchouts. He has been dealing with back spasms for about a week according to manager Tony Vitello, and he is also battling the flu. Adames can be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's series opener on the road against Diamondbacks.

The veteran shortstop scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning, launching a home run to left-center field off Jeffrey Springs. Adames also drew a walk in the sixth before coming around to score. Adames doubled in the second inning before coming around to score. The veteran shortstop also added a single in the fourth, marking his first multi-hit performance since June 5. The 30-year-old has struggled in June, slashing .174/.230/.420 with 10 runs scored, eight RBI and five home runs across 74 plate appearances.
