Not in lineup Thursday
Refsnyder is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Athletics.
Análise
After starting each of the last two games against right-handed pitching (and four straight overall), the right-handed-hitting Refsnyder will retreat to the bench for Thursday's series finale against Athletics righty J.T. Ginn. Nate Eaton will play right field and bat eighth for Boston.

Homers in win
Refsnyder went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Athletics.
Análise
Refsnyder picked up a rare start against a right-hander and homered in the second inning to give Boston a 2-1 lead. The blast, which caromed off the Carlton Fisk pole in left field, was Refsnyder's ninth of the season. He's been a steady contributor in the 12 games played since returning from an oblique injury in August, which has been helpful considering the Red Sox are without Roman Anthony (oblique) and Wilyer Abreu (calf). Refsnyder has a .992 OPS with three doubles, three homers, six walks, eight RBI and six runs scored since his activation off the IL.

Making fourth consecutive start
Refsnyder will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
Análise
The right-handed-hitting Refsnyder traditionally sees his playing time versus lefties. However, injuries to Roman Anthony (oblique) and Wilyer Abreu (calf) have afforded Refsnyder some reps against right-handed pitching, as he'll be making his second straight start versus a righty and fourth consecutive start overall. The 34-year-old Refsnyder is slashing .303/.410/.576 in 11 contests since returning from the injured list Aug. 28.
