Logs quality start in no-decision
Detmers allowed one run on three hits and four walks while striking out six batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Monday.
Análise
Though Detmers issued four free passes, he had pretty good control overall, throwing 55 of 88 pitches for strikes. The southpaw didn't give up any extra-base hits and recorded his ninth quality start of the campaign. Detmers still hasn't earned a win since June 16, but this was a promising outing after he had posted a 5.05 ERA across his previous eight starts. He's lined up to make his next appearance at home versus Kansas City.

Suffers loss in short outing
Detmers (3-8) took the loss against the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in four innings.
Análise
Detmers' demise came in the fourth inning after Tyler O'Neill and Coby Mayo hit successive homers to give Baltimore a lead it never looked back on. After staying with the Angels through the trade deadline, Detmers delivered his third start this season of four or fewer innings. The lefty is winless in his past eight starts and has a 5.05 ERA despite a 1.29 WHIP and 11.0 K/9 during that span.

Back in rotation Wednesday
Detmers will start Wednesday's game against the Orioles at Camden Yards, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Análise
Detmers appeared to be a prime candidate to get traded ahead of Monday's deadline, and though one report indicated that a deal was in place for him to join the Cubs, he ultimately stayed in Anaheim. The 27-year-old lefty will return to the bump for the Angels on seven days' rest and should continue to headline the rotation for the rest of the season. Since surrendering a season-high eight runs in a loss to the Athletics on May 19, Detmers has gone 2-2 with a 3.21 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 84:19 K:BB over 70 frames in his subsequent 12 starts.
