Sewald walked one and struck out none in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 8-6 win over Rockies.

Sewald took his first blown save of the season Wednesday versus the Rangers, and he didn't pitch for three days after that. He bounced back well Sunday, throwing 11 of 16 pitches for strikes to pick up his 10th save in 11 chances this year. Aside from Wednesday, Sewald has mostly taken care of business when closing, but his struggles have been more prevalent when in non-save situations. He's at a 4.41 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB across 16.1 innings this season, and he's allowed three home runs.

Sewald (0-4) was charged with the loss and a blown save Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk in one-third of an inning. He struck out one.
Análise
The Diamondbacks rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth frame to create a save opportunity for Sewald, but the hurler couldn't get the job done Wednesday. The 35-year-old right-hander has been prone to the occasional meltdown as Arizona's closer, giving up multiple runs in three of his 18 outings this year. Overall, Sewald has a 4.70 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB over 15.1 innings while converting nine of his 10 save chances.

Secures ninth save
Sewald picked up the save Monday against Texas. He allowed no hits or walks and hit a batter while striking out one over a scoreless inning.
Análise
Sewald entered with a one-run cushion in the ninth inning and plunked Corey Seager with two outs but was able to get Josh Jung to fly out and close the contest with no damage. The 35-year-old hurler has been stellar over his past five outings, allowing no hits and just one walk while striking out six batters during that stretch. Overall, Sewald owns a 3.07 ERA and 0.68 WHIP with an 18:4 K:BB and nine saves across 14.2 innings in 2026.
