The Astros placed Ort (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Análise
Ort strained his left oblique early on in spring training and has progressed slowly. He began throwing off a mound last week, and he's reportedly scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Thursday, per MLB.com. If that activity goes well, Ort could soon head out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Manager Joe Espada confirmed Saturday that Ort (oblique) will begin the season on the injured list, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Análise
Ort has been out since mid-February dealing with a left oblique injury and is being brought along relatively slowly, as he only began throwing off a mound Thursday. Despite his slow progress, the Astros are still hopeful he'll be able to return before the end of April.
