Belts homer in loss
Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.
Análise
Soto has gone 2-for-7 over two games since he returned from a month-long absence due to a calf strain. He's served as the designated hitter in both games, and it's unclear if he'll see much action in the field as the Mets continue to evaluate young outfielders A.J. Ewing and Carson Benge down the stretch. For the year, Soto is batting .283 with a .950 OPS, 22 homers, 54 RBI, 48 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples and seven stolen bases over 86 contests.

Productive in return
Soto went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Astros.
Análise
Seeing his first action since July 24 due to a calf srain, Soto gave the Mets a lead they wouldn't relinquish with an RBI single in the fifth inning. For the season, he's slashing .283/.406/.535 with 21 homers, 53 RBI, 47 runs scored and seven steals across 363 plate appearances. The 27-year-old skipped a rehab assignment and may need to shake off some rust, but his return is surely a boost for fantasy managers down the stretch.

Officially activated
The Mets reinstated Soto (calf) from the injured list Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Análise
Soto went through a workout at Citi Field before Friday's game against the Astros, and the Mets felt good enough about where he's at to add him back to the active roster before the end of the weekend. The 27-year-old has been sidelined for roughly a month by a Grade 2 strain in his left calf but didn't play in any rehab games. He could spend most of his time working as New York's primary designated hitter down the stretch while Luis Robert hangs onto his job as New York's left fielder.

Activation coming soon
Soto (calf) will not need a rehab assignment before returning, and his activation from the 10-day injured list is expected in the coming days, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Análise
Soto has been ramping up on-field baseball activities and is slated to go through another workout at Citi Field on Friday. The Mets are expected to have a better idea of Soto's timeline following the workout. Soto has been sidelined for a little over a month with a Grade 2 left calf strain.

Takes live batting practice Wednesday
Soto (calf) took live batting practice at Citi Field on Wednesday, Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.
Análise
Soto has been out for the past month due to a Grade 2 left calf strain, but he's been running and swinging the bat lately and appears to be closing in on a return to the Mets' active roster. He came back from a right calf strain earlier this season without a rehab assignment and could skip rehab games again, though he missed less than three weeks with the first injury. When healthy, Soto has slashed .283/.408/.539 with 21 home runs and seven steals in 84 contests for the Mets this season.
