Six strong frames in 10th win
Quintana (10-4) picked up the win Monday against the Pirates, allowing one run on three hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out three.
Análise
Quintana delivered his second consecutive quality start, and he's now tossed at least five innings in 11 straight outings as well as 17 of his 18 for the season. The 36-year-old southpaw continues to struggle with containing the long ball, however, as he's now served up at least one homer in five straight starts. Quintana will bring a steady 3.44 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 69:36 K:BB over 99.1 frames into his next scheduled outing in Cincinnati against the Reds, who have a pitiful .607 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of July.

Moved up to Monday
Quintana will start Monday's series opener against the Pirates, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Análise
Quintana will be moved up a day to toe the rubber Monday, after he was initially set to go Tuesday. He'll swap spots in the rotation with Freddy Peralta, who will now line up to go opposite of Paul Skenes in Tuesday's matchup. The left-handed Quintana recorded a quality start Wednesday against Atlanta, tossing six innings and allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out a season-high seven batters. Quintana has struggled with the long ball recently, surrendering six home runs over his last four starts, something he'll look to correct against Pittsburgh.

Improves to 9-4
Quintana (9-4) earned the win over Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over six innings.
Análise
Quintana had a rocky start to his outing, allowing three singles that created one run in the first inning. He then settled down, keeping Atlanta off the board for the next three frames before surrendering a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings. Quintana's seven punchouts marked a season high, and this was just the fourth time over 17 outings that he didn't issue a free pass. With nine victories so far, the veteran left-hander has a legitimate chance of surpassing his career-high mark of 13 regular-season wins, which he has achieved on three separate occasions.
