With lefty Nick Lodolo on the bump for the Reds, the left-handed hitter will receive the afternoon off while Mark Vientos replaces him at first base. Young had started all but one of the Mets' 17 games dating back to May 29, slashing .203/.266/.441 with four home runs, eight RBI and seven runs during that period.

Young went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Young extended New York's lead to 3-1 in the first inning with a solo homer off Hunter Dobbins, his fourth of the year, before tying the game at 4-4 with an RBI single in the fifth. Since returning from the IL on May 26, Young has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with a .911 OPS while playing nearly every day at first base.
