Carroll started in six consecutive games after being activated from the injured list July 5, and he'll get the night off Friday for rest purposes. Salvages tough day
Carroll went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Padres.
Análise
Carroll salvaged what was shaping up to be a day to forget with a ninth-inning home run, his 21st across 77 games. Prior to his final at-bat, he had struck out four times. After going hitless with five strikeouts in his first nine at-bats off the injured list, Carroll has strung together a three-game hit streak, which includes a double, triple and home run.

Hitless in return
Carroll went 0-for-5 in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Royals.
Análise
Carroll beat the timeline for a recovery from a fractured left wrist and was activated Saturday. There was no easing him back in the lineup; Carroll played right field and was back at his familiar leadoff spot in the order. To make room for Carroll's return, the Diamondbacks optioned Tim Tawa back to Triple-A Reno.

Activated from injured list
The Diamondbacks reinstated Carroll (wrist) from the injured list Saturday.
Análise
Carroll has been on the injured list with a chip fracture in his left wrist since June 24. After playing a rehab game in the Arizona Complex League and going 0-for-2 with two walks, he's been given the green light to return to the D-backs' lineup. He'll slide right back in as Arizona's primary right fielder, and Tim Tawa will head to Triple-A Reno in order to make room on the active roster.
