Cleared to swing bat
Correa (ankle) was cleared to swing a bat Tuesday and is hopeful to return from the 60-day injured list before the end of the season, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Análise
Correa underwent what was believed to be season-ending ankle surgery May 11, as the procedure was expected to carry an estimated recovery timeline of 6-to-8 months. However, as McTaggart reports, Correa is attempting to defy the odds and return to action late in the season as the Astros jockey for a playoff spot. Correa slashed .279/.369/.418 with three home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs scored and one stolen base across 141 plate appearances before hitting the shelf.

Begins running progression
Correa (ankle) has begun light on-field baseball activities as well as a running progression, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Análise
Correa underwent season-ending left ankle surgery in May. Nothing has changed regarding Correa's timetable, but the veteran being able to re-incorporate baseball activities in late July gives him a chance to enter the offseason without any major restrictions.
