For just the second time since being promoted from Triple-A Columbus on Aug. 5, Genao will hit the bench. Rhys Hoskins will enter the starting nine as a replacement for Genao, who has produced a .294/.368/.412 slash line with one home run, one stolen base, three RBI and seven runs through his first 10 big-league games.

Replaces teammate against lefty
Genao started at second base and went 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over Detroit.
Análise
Genao replaced the primary second baseman, Travis Bazzana, for the second time in the last three games in which the Guardians faced a left-handed starter. Bazzana has a .192./.306/.240 slash line over 121 plate appearances against lefties. The switch-hitting Genao logged an .881 OPS against left-handers while with Triple-A Columbus prior to his call-up to Cleveland.
