Signs standard contract
The Warriors converted Spencer's two-way deal to a standard NBA contract Saturday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Spencer has emerged as a key piece of the Warriors rotation this season and is coming off a career-best performance in the team's win over the Suns on Thursday, when he recorded 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 32 minutes. He's already been active for the maximum 50 games allotted to two-way players, but now that he's playing under a standard contract, he will be eligible to play in Saturday's contest against the Lakers. With Stephen Curry (knee) set to miss Saturday's contest, expect Spencer to start at point guard and play hefty minutes under his new deal.

Scores career-high 20 in spot start
Spencer recorded 20 points (6-11 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Thursday's 101-97 victory over the Suns.

With Stephen Curry (knee) unavailable, Spencer moved into the starting five and not only led the Warriors in scoring, but he also produced a career high in points. The third-year guard has seen significant court time in three of the last five games (two starts) while Curry's been sidelined, averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 boards, 4.3 assists, 3.7 three-pointers and 1.3 steals in 30.7 minutes in those outings, but he played a total of only 12 minutes in the other two contests. Spencer is signed to a two-way deal for the Warriors, and because he's now been active for the maximum 50 games at the NBA level this season, Golden State will need to convert him to a standard contract in order for him to be eligible to play again in 2025-26.

Making rare start Thursday
Spencer is starting Thursday's game against the Suns, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Spencer will draw just his fifth start of the 2025-26 campaign as the team will be without the services of Stephen Curry (knee). Spencer has scored in double figures in all four of his previous starts this year, so he'll have a shot to provide a scoring boost again Thursday evening.

Spencer finished with 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists and one steal across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 113-94 loss to the 76ers.
Análise
The Warriors had to dig deep to find more production during the loss, and Spencer came through with one of the team's highest totals. Spencer was a non-factor in his first two seasons with Golden State, but his 2025-26 minute average has jumped to 13.9 minutes per game. The gap left by Jimmy Butler (knee) has aided his bottom line.
