As we gear up for the new season, we’re introducing a few changes to processing and service fees on the marketplace. 

The short version: There will be no additional fee when you purchase cards on Auction or Instant Buy using funds available in your Cash Wallet. If you pay directly by credit card, Apple Pay, Klarna or PayPal, a new processing fee will apply. This fee only applies on Auction and Instant Buy purchases, It doesn’t apply to Gems or Manager Sales purchases.

We’re also introducing Pay by Bank, a new, lower-cost way to fund your Cash Wallet, with a flat €0.25 or £0.25 fee for EUR and GBP deposits.

These changes help us keep funding the infrastructure behind the marketplace, payment processing costs, fraud prevention, compliance, reliability, while continuing to invest in new capabilities and improvements across Sorare.

Deposits

All existing deposit options keep the exact fees you have today, nothing changes there.

We’re also adding a new option: direct banking deposits. It carries a flat service fee of just €0.25 or £0.25 per transaction, instead of the percentage-based fee on your current options. This is live now for most EUR and GBP banks, and we’re working to bring USD support soon.

For example, on a €1,000 deposit, a 1% fee costs €10 today. With the new deposit option, that same deposit costs €0.25.

We’re also running a special promo: until Sunday, August 30th 11:59 PM CET: deposit $100 or more, use at least $50 of it on the primary market, and win $50 in market credits. All amounts are in your account’s currency. For example, if your currency is euros, you’ll need to deposit €100, use €50, and you’ll win €50 in Market Credits. More details HERE.

Card payments

Starting August 31st, buying a card on Auctions or Instant Buy directly with your card, Apple pay, Klarna or Paypal rather than with your Cash wallet, will carry a processing fee. 2% for credit card and Apple pay payments. 2,5% for Klarna payments and 3.25% for Paypal payments (just like Paypal deposit fee).

The new processing fees reflect the costs associated with processing direct payments, including payment processing and fraud prevention.

Manager sale fees

The fee on Manager sales stays at 5% of the sale price. In the coming weeks, we will introduce a minimum fee of €0.10 per transaction. This doesn’t change anything for sales above €2. For sales below €2, the fee will be a flat €0.10 instead of 5% of the sale price.
For example, a €10 card sale still carries a €0.50 fee (5%), same as today. A €1 card sale will carry the new minimum €0.10 fee instead of €0.05.

Looking ahead

We’re committed to keeping the marketplace experience as smooth as possible. We’re already investing in new features to improve your experience: for example, we’re working to bring the “Pay by Bank” option to Instant Buy too, not just deposits, with the same flat €0.25 fee. We’ve also introduced a new feature that makes it easier to convert ETH to fiat from Sorare, giving eligible Managers more flexibility in how they manage their funds and use the Marketplace.
