Sluggish performance Monday
Middleton supplied six points (2-9 FG, 2-7 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and two steals over 18 minutes during Monday's 129-111 loss to New Orleans.
Analysis
Middleton scored no more than six points for the third straight game, prior to which he erupted for a season-high 35 points. While the talent is still there. Middleton simply can't sustain meaningful production at this point. Even with his 35-point effort, Middleton sits outside the top-150 players in five games over the past week, averaging 13.2 points, 1.0 steals and 2.6 three-pointers.

Catches fire from three
Middleton finished with 35 points (10-17 FG, 8-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 25 minutes during Thursday's 120-112 victory over Memphis.
Analysis
Middleton was getting nearly everything to fall, especially from beyond the arc, where he buried a season-high eight triples. He paced the Mavs in scoring despite being deployed off the bench and even found a way to add production on the defensive end. It's unfair to expect this kind of scoring production from the 34-year-old regularly, but he still shows flashes of elite scoring from time to time.
