Williams ended Wednesday's 127-113 loss to the Spurs with 18 points (8-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds, two steals and one assist across 47 minutes.
Analyse
Making his first NBA start since he was a rookie with Portland in 2022-23, Williams led the Warriors in scoring while handling a massive workload on the front end of a back-to-back set. The 27-year-old wing hasn't had a consistent role in the rotation despite all of Golden State's injuries. He played just 11 minutes in the team's last game Sunday and has played 20-plus minutes just three times in 11 appearances since the beginning of March. A two-way player, Williams also has limited availability moving forward; he'll be eligible to suit up for just three of the Warriors' remaining six games. With that in mind, the Warriors could elect to make Williams inactive for Thursday's game against the Cavaliers if the team is able to get some players back from injury.

With the Warriors being very shorthanded in the first leg of this back-to-back set, the two-way player will make his first start since the 2022-23 campaign with Portland. He's averaging 6.2 points and 1.8 rebounds across 13.3 minutes per tilt in 11 regular-season games thus far, though he should see a significant uptick in minutes against San Antonio.

Williams did not play for the Santa Cruz Warriors in Friday's G League game against the Texas Legends and last saw NBA-level action March 21 against the Hawks. He'll be eligible to play in five of the Warriors' final eight games of the regular season.
